AC Milan are working on a transfer with Atletico Madrid for Alvaro Morata. Morata has a release clause in his contract. Morata joined Atletico from Juventus in 2022. Morata previously played for Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Atletico president Enrique Cerezo appeared to confirm that Morata was set to leave the club.
Asked if Morata would sign for Milan, Cerezo said to Spanish outlet Cuatro: “It seems to be yes. According to the press, he is signing today.
“First he said he was staying, then he said he was leaving. And at Atleti, whoever wants to stay, stays, and whoever doesn’t want to stay, leaves. We don’t have any problem. On the contrary, it bothers and annoys us because Morata is a magnificent player, a magnificent striker and a magnificent person. But he is the one who has to decide his destiny.”
