Liverpool have identified Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi as their first major target of the summer. Zubimendi has a reported release clause of £51 million. Zubimendi would give Liverpool an improved option as a defensive midfielder.
For a large proportion of last season Alexis Mac Allister was deployed as a No 6.
