The Official Utah Jazz-Related Stuff 2024-2025 Thread

Post#1 » by Inigo Montoya » Mon Aug 19, 2024 12:08 pm

The schedule for the upcoming season was released and it looks very conducive to tanking. The west is stacked and the Jazz are probably worse than every team in the west other than Portland and maybe the Spurs.

The Clippers are probably a 32 win team, the Lakers are probably a 38 win team, and the Rockets are probably a 32 win team as the Rockets are heavily incentivized to tank hard this year and the Rockets' roster fits together terribly and Sengun is mad at the team.

There's some pretty wild overrating happening of the west to justify the Jazz's tank this year. I think the East is better than the West this year.

Some dude randomly played disc golf with Lauri Markkanen, not knowing who he is. Pretty amusing read, methinks :)

Before I realized who he was I told him that the local shop has a "3 for the price of 2" deal on used discs. And that will forever haunt me.

From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

This is the 1st time for a while I don't care too much about the begin of the season. Bad times to be a Jazz fan.

Agreed, I would be happier if the Jazz had a real direction or did something proactive.

I was roaming Media Day stuff.

Some guy wrote there were only five reporters at Utah's Media Day... I don't know if that was exaggerated.
Apparently Kessler stays so far.
Laurita as well
Lots of talk about investing, improving and developing not that much about winning games (Yup. Figures)
Suits looked nice

Predictions for who starts tonight?

My guess is:
Keyonte
Sexton
Markk
Collins
Kessler

Hendricks is the first one off the bench, and plays significant minutes.
JC and Sensi next off bench. It will be interesting to see what positions they play and who they play with.
Williams will be the first true rookie to come into the game, and IC and Flip will just play garbage minutes, to the dismay of some.

Cody Williams might be our best perimeter defender right now, which doesn't say all that much, but it says a little.

This is going to be a long season of 120 - 135 games with three quarters of garbage time.
Oh well, I will likely end up watching more Spurs than Jazz games.

Shouldn't it increase your excitement? Maybe this time the Jazz will tank properly 8-)
