Brewers/Mets Season - Season Finale

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Thu Sep 26, 2024 7:57 pm

Kind of odd we start and end with the Mets. Mets certainly have something to play for. And a well rested pitching staff having been off Wednesday and Thursday. Too bad McNeil is out, I wanted some more fireworks with Hoskins. If he's in the dugout there could still be some.

Friday - 7:10 - Montas vs. Manaea
Saturday - 6:15 - TBA vs. TBA - FOX
Sunday - 2:10 - TBA vs. TBA
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Is it pretty safe to assume that Peralta and Civale will start the first two games of the playoffs on 5 days rest? I see little reason to rest anyone else any more than usual, and I want to win this series and place the Mets in the 6 seed if at all possible.

Myers went the night before Freddy. Is it possible Myers is game 1 with Freddy game 2. Then Civale game 3 if necessary
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

I'll be shocked if it isn't Freddy then Rea.

You're probably right. I just can't shake the feeling that Tobes is going to come crashing back to Earth at the worst possible time, plus that means 6 days rest for everyone and I'm not sure that's ideal for keeping them sharp. And you don't need to line up 3 starters for the first round; one bullpen game is easily manageable in a 3-game series sandwiched around 2 days off.

I'm also obviously biased in wanting to beat the Mets into the 6 seed, not only because they're the most favorable match-up but also because you know that games will start at a favorable time for the NYC market, which I'm in.

Gonna feel terrible for him if he's out for the playoffs. But Mitchell should get all his ABs anyway.
