Ill offer this idea for the Pelicans to get back expirings, depth and picks for Ingram while getting out of tax while the Raptors take a flyer on Ingram to see if they want to extend him.
To Toronto
-Brandon Ingram (1 year, $36 million)
To New Orleans
-Bruce Brown (1 year, $23 million)
-Chris Boucher (1 year, $10.8 million)
-2025 Portland 2nd round pick
-2026 2nd round pick
Why?
-The Raps add Ingram who can start at the 3 as they get an opportunity to see if he's a good fit long term.
Quickley/Mitchell/Shead
Barrett/Dick/Walter
Ingram/Agbaji/Temple
Barnes/Olynyk/FA?
Poeltl/Fernando/Mogbo
-New Orleans adds Brown who can come off bench in a versatile role and Boucher gives them more frontcourt depth as they get a potential high 2nd in 2025 and another one in 2026 while getting out of tax.
Murray/Alvarado
McCollum/Brown/Hawkins/Reeves/Green
Jones/Murphy
Williamson/Boucher/Earl/Matkovic
Theis/Missi

Re: Ingram to Toronto
Given the Pels major need at center I don't see any way and Ingram to Toronto trade happens without Poeltl or at least Olynyk going to NO.

Sure, I mean Boucher is a serviceable depth guy but I see what youre saying. Im sure Raps want to keep Poeltl for time being.

Re: Ingram to Toronto
I think NOP would view Boucher as a fit for them at the 5, that's what he plays.
The Pels have probably always valued Brandon a lil more than this, which is why he's been on the trade block forever and hasn't been traded. If they realize they might lose him for free, they may decide to take a buy low deal like this. You're basically just paying for the privilege to go over the cap to outbid other teams with his Bird rights.

Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

Re: Ingram to Toronto
Poeltl has to go out in this for it to make any sense for the Pels.

Pels will just play out the season if this is all they can get. Likely could get more in a SNT than this next offseason.

Re: Ingram to Toronto
I think they should find a third team and immediately re-route Ingram for future assets.

This place is insufferable.

Brown + Pöltl for Ingram, with Ingram going to a third team might have legs.
