Masataka Yoshida is recovering from surgery to repair the labrum in his right shoulder.
The Boston Red Sox designated hitter underwent successful surgery on Oct. 3. Dr. Evan O\'Donnell performed the procedure at Massachusetts General Hospital. The Red Sox didn\'t say whether he\'d be ready for the start of spring training.
Yoshida, 31, played seven years of pro baseball in Japan before signing a five-year, $90 million contract with the Red Sox on Dec. 7, 2022.
