Bucks rebuild on the run/Rockets

Post#1 » by louc1970 » Wed Oct 23, 2024 8:20 pm

Bucks do the unimaginable.
Bucks trade Giannis/Green
Rockets trade Smith/Adams/Jeff Green/Landale/Eason

Rockets go fall in to win.
Bucks rebuild on the fly.

Next step is to find a home for Lillard and Lopez. What can be received for those 2?

Bucks could get quite a bit more for Giannis.

Bucks can't aggregate salaries and Green has a PP due to the extension.

Maybe next summer.

Giannis should return WAAAAAAAAAY more than just Smith/Eason/expirings. We’re talking about a perennial mvp still in his prime. Those guys break the bank.

Did you forget the part about the 6 future firsts? I must have read over it.

Houston has some interesting future 1sts that they could add in to make that a reasonable offer.

I can't imagine a Giannis trade until next summer at the earliest - and that would take a lost season from the Bucks.

Houston could easily make a compelling offer for Giannis. But the OP is not it.

I think something like Amen + One of Smith/Reed + One of Eason/Cam + Suns Picks + HOU Future 1st is strong

Amen/Reed/Eason/3 Picks

So, here is what I would offer for Giannis.

Brooks, Jabari, Landale, 27 Nets Swap, 27 Suns Unprotected, 29 Suns Unprotected #1, 2029 Dallas #1, 2031 Hou #1

FVV / Reed
Green / Cam
Eason /
Giannis / Amen
Sengun / Adams

Something like Colbinii offered up. Start with 2 or 3 of their recent lottery pick players and add some high upside unprotected picks. Eason likely could not fetch a lottery pick right now regardless of what Houston fans think. Smith has value but doesn't look like he is on a star path, likely worth 2 non premium 1sts as of right now. I rather just control some other teams picks for the next 7 years than take this low upside offer in the OP.

+1

There are maybe a dozen guys in the entire league who would be off limits in a Giannis trade and Jalen Green sure as s*** isn’t one of them

I think maybe he is using untouchable in the opposite way here. Like the Bucks wouldn't want to touch that contract. That is how I read it first.

I read it as /s or sarcasm and that he was referencing AJ Green, as he was a Bucks fan, and AJ Green is listed as outgoing from the Bucks.

Unfortunately this is not NBA 2k. Just not going to happen like this.
