The Boston Red Sox have announced that Dillon Lawson has been promoted to the role of assistant hitting coach.
Lawson had been with the Red Sox for the last year as the club\'s minor league hitting coordinator. He\'ll take over the role left open by Luis Ortiz, who was one of six coaches Boston announced wouldn\'t be returning for the 2025 season.
This will be Lawson\'s second stint on a Major League coaching staff, after his previous job as the New York Yankees\' hitting coach for the 2022 season and the first half of the 2023 season.
