Nuggets/Rockets....Whitmore on the move

Post#1 » by youngthegiant » Thu Nov 7, 2024 10:24 pm

Denver trades: 2031 1st rd pick (unprotected), Dario Saric

Houston Trades: Cam Whitmore

Why: Denver gets a young controlled asset for two more years who could potentially replace MPJ when his contract is up. Rockets get an unprotected 1st they can use to go big fish hunting.

I want to say no, but I think he might get put up for auction at some point since we have a good rotation at this point, and then it would just be highest bidder.

My gut feeling is if Whitmore gets traded somewhere, it will be as part of a larger package to get a star, and not for a draft pick.

What's more valuable to, say a team like the Suns if we come knocking on the door for Book. Whitmore in the package or a Denver unprotected first in the package?

Yeah if there's a bigger deal in place where team X wants the pick over Whitmore then yeah, cool, otherwise unless the Rockets are down on him (I think hes just in a squeeze rn that will eventually sort itself out) don't think they sell for a pick but thats really good value for him

If Denver is trading a first round pick it'll probably be for a backup big man, not another wing.

Denver needs to think very carefully before trading any more picks.

Agree with you guys they aren't looking to do that, but man if you get an unprotected 1st 7 years from now with a team whose entire success is Jokic, I think I'd have to take it.
