Lopez to Lakers, Brown to Bucks, Vanderbilt to Pistons

Post#1 » by Bentley1225 » Mon Nov 11, 2024 2:13 am

Ill offer this idea for:
-Lakers to get another sought after big in Lopez
-Bucks add more versatility while getting smaller
-Pistons add more frontcourt depth
-Raptors cash out on Brown by getting immediate salary flexibility and picks

To Los Angeles (Trade Vincent, Vanderbilt, Lewis, 2 2nds)
-Brook Lopez (1 year, $23 million)

To Milwaukee (Trade Lopez)
-Bruce Brown (1 year, $23 million)

To Detroit (Trade Moore Jr.)
-Jared Vanderbilt (4 years, $48 million)
-Jamal Shead (1 year, $1.8 million)

To Toronto (Trade Brown & Shead, waive Temple)
-Gabe Vincent (2 years, $22.5 million)
-Wendel Moore Jr. (1 year, $2.5 million)
-Maxwell Lewis (1 year, $1.9 million)
-2025 Lakers 2nd rund pick
-2027 Lakers 2nd round pick

Why?
-The Lakers add more depth in frontcourt as AD could play the 4 and LeBron the 3. Lakers can add VM players to add depth (Bertans and Bullock?)

Russell/Hood-Schifino/James
Reaves/Christie/FA?
James/Knecht/Reddish
Davis/Hachimura/FA?
Lopez/Hayes/Wood

-Milwaukee moves to add Portis to start at the 5 and Brown to start at the 2. Bucks can add a VM 5 for more depth (Biyombo or Muscala or McGee)

Lillard/Wright/Johnson
Brown/Trent/Beauchamp/Green
Middleton/Connaughton/Linvginton/Smith
Giannis/Prince/
Portis/FA?

-Detroit leverages cap space to swap out Moore Jr. for Vanderbilt and Shead as Pistons add more frontcourt depth

Cunningham/Sasser/Shead
Ivey/Hardaway/Beasley
Thompson/Holland/Fontecchio
Harris/Vanderbilt/Klintman
Duren/Stewart/Reed

-Raptors cash out of Brown as they look to add 2nds to further rebuild.

Quickley/Mitchell/Vincent
Dick/Walter/Moore Jr.
Barrett/Agbaji/Maxwell
Barnes/Boucher/Mogbo
Poeltl/Olynyk/Fernando

Lakers need Brown more than they need Lopez

Just cut Milwaukee out if Toronto want that package.

Also, Lakers will want to see what Vando can bring before doing this trade

I don't see anyway Detroit considers taking on Vanderbilt without any sort of incentive. They can probably net seconds near the deadline for an expiring from a team trying to avoid the lux tax or aprons. If not actually utilize it for a player that's worth it.

Bucks just depends on if they want to get smaller, but they also would need to see Brown being healthy first before they pull the trigger.

Raptor fans would probably pass on it, and the second year of Vincent definitely should give them pause. Think they should do it though.

No brainer for the Lakers, just clearing the $22M of Vincent and Vando is worth the pair of seconds imo, but adding a player that can help on top is good.

Lakers take it and run imo. a FA guard could match Gabe impact.

Raptors like Shead too much for this construction. Swap in Fernando for him and it's a meh deal, that next year of Vincent is kind of nasty to only be getting the two 2nds.

Pistons are about to get Ausar back and Duren back from a short injury. With those two in the rotation we already probably don't have minutes for BBall Paul or Holland. We're not hurting for depth. We could probably (longterm) use another all-star level player to make a leap. This trade doesn't move the needle for us and feels fairly pointless. I'd rather hold onto the cap room and see if we get something with an actual sweetener.

Bucks wouldn't trade Lopez for Brown. Team needs another big even with Brook not another JAG at the 2.

Ok, so a lot to process here.

Lakers do this and block the other teams numbers. Lakers get a starting center, dump two contracts, all at the cost of a mediocre prospect and two second round picks.

Bucks- even looking at just getting rid of Lopez, they would need a center back. I feel like they only trade him if Giannis is traded. So I don’t see them trading him for someone to help now.

Raptors- I feel like they could get something better for Bruce Brown, even with him being an expiring contract. They also seem to like Shead.

Pistons- everyone healthy, I’m not sure Vanderbilt is important to the rotation. Shead isn’t enough to take on the remainder of this years contract for him AND the additional 3 years.

If Kelly Olynyk is healthy, maybe the Lakers go after him. They kind of need someone to just help in the rotation up front. You could almost argue they’d get more use out of Bruce. Or maybe the Lakers could do something like Vincent/JHS/some picks (for Washington to take on Vincents contract) to the Wizards for Richaun Holmes. He gives them a playable big that’s better than the two guys they’re trading. Also he’s on a better contract. Plus it saves them enough money to add some wing or guard that’s still available

Yeah, so the Lakers dump their two worst contracts and get a useful starter/valuable expiring all for the cost of two future 2nd's? Just way too good for them here. Brown also is coming off serious knee surgery and is out indefinitely with no immediate timetable on his return. Questionable if he really has any value right now outside of a dead money expiring contract. Either the Raptors or Lakers have to give something more to Detroit/Milwaukee here to bridge the value gap.
