Felt like Quentin Grimes could have turned around at half court, shot the ball backwards with two defenders on him and it would have swished. That's how hot he was.

Not a huge Simons fan, but the guy was on FIRE in the third, scoring 24 points in a single quarter. Finished the quarter with 5 fouls though.
Then, after a short rest he goes back in. Lasted all of 2 whole seconds before fouling out. Did I mention I'm not a huge fan?

Can't wait till Simons is traded, but I did have fun watching him go off in the 3rd.

Blazer almost got away with a win...so glad they didn't! lol
Still sad that Clingan isn't getting these games for development. What's the word on Scoot? His back?

Right now the Blazers are 2 games ahead of their projected pace of 23 wins.

Great tank loss. Competitive, some players breaking out of slumps / getting comfortable (Deni) but still adding to the ping-pong balls.

Very impressive game from the Blazers offensively, for a team that has typically been one of the worst in the NBA at scoring this game was a nice sight to see.

This game can be summed up in 6 words: POR does not have a Doncic

I was at the game and POR shot the ball ridiculously well: 58.3% from the field, 58.1% from 3pt range. I think it was mentioned that this was the first game of the year that both teams shot over 50% from 3pt range, just unbelievable.

Just for reference, for the year DAL is shooting 36.5% from 3pt (they shot 50%), POR is at 33.8%

The fact that POR lost this game which, with that type of shooting should not happen, literally boils down to ONE major factor: No star player

Certainly, there were other factors:

- Billups had some awful game management
- Leaving Simons in the game when he was in foul trouble, Simons also just a dumb foul to get disqualified on
- Subbing Walker to put on Doncic?
- Some bad turnovers by Sharpe & Banton
- Per usual "ole" defense by Simons (but Sharpe was just as bad)
- Also, lazy defense by Ayton on several occassions
- Iso ball with Grant at the end of the game, just a wild shot that had no chance

But the bottom line is, when DAL needed a bucket or a run, Luka Doncic just took over

36pts - 13 assists - 7 rebounds - 3 steals

POR took one of the best teams in the NBA to the wire, but Doncic (first game back after a 5-game absence I think?) just willed his team to this victory. I thought Jason Kidd managed Doncic extremely well, resting him at the end of a few quarters to get a little more rest, inserting him back in to stop a POR run.

Important factor, DAL was without (3) major starters: Irving, Thompson, Lively. But, even so POR played spectacularly well

Was at the game last night. Was pretty fun. The dude at halftime was amazing!

Billups was a bone head for leaving Simons in as long as he did in the 1st half. I get that Simons told him to leave him in with 7 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. That's fine, but pull him out with 2 minutes remaining so he doesn't pick up a silly foul in the closing seconds of the half.

Some of the plays coming out of a timeout were just plain stupid. Again, I'm putting that on Billups.

60% shooting and they lose. Ridiculous. Turnovers and fouls was the difference.

Having said all that, I'm okay with the loss as I want a higher draft pick. I'm happy with competitive losses this season.
