Santi Aldama to Denver
Denver trades: 2031 UNPROTECTED 1st, Dario Šarić (2 years $5.2M/$5.4M), Vlatko Čančar (1 year $2.4M), Jalen Pickett (1 year guaranteed $1.8M/$2.2M/$2.4M), cash ($1.8M)
Denver recives: Santi Aldama (1 year $3,9M/QO $5.9M), John Konchar (3 years $6.1M/$6.1M/$6.1M)
Memphis trades: 2025 2nd (via HOU or OKC), Santi Aldama (1 year $3,9M/QO $5.9M), John Konchar (3 years $6.1M/$6.1M/$6.1M)
Memphis recives: 2031 UNPROTECTED 1st, Dario Šarić (2 years $5.2M/$5.4M), Vlatko Čančar (1 year $2.4M)

Why for Denver: Denver needs backup big. If they trade for center he will play 15 min in regular season and 10 min in the playoffs behind Jokic. Santi can play some minutes as backup 5 and also as backup 4. Good offensive player 3pt shooter, passer and rebounder, big, strong. Not great rim protector but in pair with PWatson can be good combination. Konchar is solid smart vet, hustles and knows the game. He could be 9-10 player in rotation. Čančar is injured, Šarić is out of rotation, Pickett is in g-league. Denver spends it last good asset for solid player on position of need, they can resign him next year as restricted FA.
Why for Memphis: They have Jaren Jackson Jr, Zach Edey and Brandon Clarke on contracts and in front of Aldama in rotation and Jay Huff is also signed through 2027/28. Instead of using too much resources on bigs they get good unprotected pick they can use in trades for the next 7 years, or wait and pick a player in the year Jokic will be 36. Koncar is a good vet but behind Desmond Bane, Jaylen Wells, Marcus Smart, Luke Kennard, Jake LaRavia and GG Jackson in rotation on 3/$18M contract. By trading him they free some money.
Detroit: gets 2nd for cap space and money from Denver to pay Jalen Pickett's salary if they want to cut him and keep 1 roster spot free for further use.

Re: Santi Aldama to Denver
so denver doesn't officially have a 1st to trade, if any of their 2025, 2027, or 2029 1sts owed to various teams fall into protection.
investigate Adam Silver

So let's say Denver lowers protection on its 2029 traded to OKC to 1-3, and Memphis takes a risk 2025 and 2027 1st will not be in 1-5 range. Too risky for Memphis?

Denver cant take back more salary than they are sending out. (9.2 vs 10 right now)

Re: Santi Aldama to Denver
Aldama has been our 3/4th best player this season, playing the most minutes on the team. He is ahead of Clarke in the rotation (Clarke is currently starting but playing significantly less minutes and fits in less lineups than Aldama). Not sure if it stays that way once we are fully healthy but I think the goal is to keep him this season and resign him in the offseason. But for a unprotected pick I think this is something we would have to do, if it was just a likely late 1st lottery protected pick offered then I think we pass but the unprotected nature would make this a yes for me. I think some special language would have to come into to play to ensure we get the pick after OKC debt is paid off but sounds like that might not be possible.
Works with or without Konchar. He is our 9/10th man and is nice to have since he fills in a lot of places. I think for a less deep team like Denver he would be in Denver's playoff rotation.

Doesnt work with real life rules since Denver is above 1st apron

In that case Jalen Pickett can be replaced with DeAndre Jordan. Saric+Jordan+Cancar 10.1
Also 2 options without Konchar are OK with Pickett

I'm not Denver's GM obviously, but I would negotiate with ORL and OKC to remove protections on our traded 2025, 2027 and 2029 picks for some 2nd round picks. That way Memphis would get 2031 1st 100%. I think with Aldama and Konchar we would be set to contend for next 5 years in Jokic's prime. Our time to win is now, it is more important than chance to draft some new Risacher, Zion, Ayton, Fultz or Simmons 5 years from now.

Denver have their 31 pick to trade, it's not tied to any protection, they shouldn't trade it for Santi Aladama.

They probably shouldn’t but they don’t have too many other options

Re: Santi Aldama to Denver
Denver needs help badly and Aldama has been very solid this season. I'm not sure this is the trade though. Doesn't feel like it solves their biggest issues.
Murray turning into a pumpkin and their young guys mostly being a year away means some very hard discussions in that front office.

Unless they plan on upgrading their top 7 with trade/swap, this option is reasonable.

It's not reasonable to trade unprotected 1st for very good backup big

Doubly so when they’d be the backup to the multi time mvp.

That is the reason why Santi Aldama could be good solution. He could play behind Jokic as C, but also with him as PF, backing AG. 20-24 minutes per game. And with this trade they upgrade position of need without downgrading other positions.
Starters are fine, lineup Murray-Braun-Porter-Gordon-Jokic has a +12.5 net rating 164 minutes of action. Strawther is still bad on defense and Konchar could be upgrade here. Russ and Watson are doing fine in stager lineups.
But, Malone is still bigest problem.

Re: Santi Aldama to Denver
2 things if I'm Grizz.
1) Probably not changing team chemistry given my playoff position. Not listening on Aldama.
2) I'm looking to buy from the East instead of sell to the competition.

Legitimate position from Grizzlies perspective. And they are so deap they don't need to do any changes. But if they want to do anything this could be good offer.
