Bulls Seeking First Round Pick For Nikola Vucevic

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Dec 14, 2024 6:38 pm

The Chicago Bulls are continuing to try to trade Nikola Vucevic. Despite Vucevic's strong play to open the season, one hold-up for a deal is that Chicago is seeking a first-round pick in a deal for the veteran center.

Vucevic has averaged 21 points on 58.7% shooting, including 47.4% from behind the arc this season. He's also averaged 9.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and just shy of a block and a steal per game.

The veteran center is owed $20 million this season and $21.5 million next season. Rival teams have seen that as a bit pricey for a center who can't anchor the backline of a defense. However, Vucevic's hot start offensively could sway a team to make a deal before the February 6 trade deadline.

Shouldn't be a problem. He's worth a protected 1st.

Agreed. And roughly just 20 mil for the next two season. Could be a steal for someone

Paid too much they will settle for a couple of seconds closer to the trade deadline

NBA players are rated by the size of their contract. Vuc is averaging 21/10/3, shooting 47% from 3pt with a .686 TS%. I won't get into the advanced stats, but they look great... and his $20m contract is less than half of the max. He's the 86th highest paid player this season.

He could be traded straight up for Marcus Smart, Dlo, Nurkic (almost), etc....

Nope. They will keep him if they can’t get a 1st. They have no incentive to just dump him. They don’t have a young potential guy he is taking minutes from yet. They may dump Zach for that but not Vuc. You obviously aren’t familiar with bulls cap situation, draft capital, or depth chart.

Also second round picks are essentially worthless. Yall been brainwashed.
