Draymond off the Bench is a Disaster
After watching that lineup that started the game, how did Steve Kerr start the same lineup to begin the 3rd quarter? You're playing JK at power forward, Buddy at guard, and your defense absolutely sucks. And you're getting destroyed on the scoreboard. What coach in the NBA would think with a team struggling with size and defense that he should not start Draymond? I can think of only one coach that stupid -- Steve Kerr. This game was over before it ever began.
Also, we need to be honest and put the blame on Joe Lacob for his unwillingness to trade Podz & Kuminga. First, they're not that good. Second, they're being played out of position. Podz at point guard? Dribble, dribble, dribble, and create nothing? JK getting overmatched on defense at power forward (not his fault)? Yes, they're set up for failure, but also, when you have a chance to get Lauri Markkannen and Cam Johnson YOU DO IT. I'm so sick of Lacob's ego. His refusal to improve the roster because he's fallen in love with his draft picks is disgusting.
More change is needed. And now. And pull your head out, Kerr. Start Draymond and try to put together a group out that can play SOME defense and give yourself a chance to compete.

But when I say that Kuminga is not a pf everybody here has a different opinion.
Kuminga because of his size and type of play is not a pf.
He is an athletically gifted sf who needs to develop his game.
Good or bad he is a sf.
Warriors need to trade at first for a starting big.
Their roster is not balanced

What does a 4 do?
Rebound, boxout, help at the rim, rotate on defense, score at the rim, provide spacing, set screens.
Jk literally does one of those things score at the rim. He can sometimes provide some on ball defense against certain matchups. But yea I guess he’s a 4 because he can’t shoot.
His best matchups to score are actually against guards. He struggles to get by wings with similar size and athleticism.

Experimenting with lineups. Warriors don't chase wins goal is top 6 and health.

I was shocked and appalled when Draymond didn't start the 3rd last night. I'm one of Kerr's top defenders but that was astonishing

Just my opinion but I think they are starting Kuminga to juice his numbers for a potential trade. Kuminga had so much hype on popping in year 4, his value was tanking on the bench.

I couldn't agree more.
My guess is they trade him for a player who might make them marginally better.

Re: Draymond off the Bench is a Disaster
They just traded their best salary ballast, and if they are wasting any of the season propping up trade value for a guy they refused to trade in the offseason, that would be just goddamn hilarious
Truth is that they are probably trying to coax actual value out of him, on-court, and dont seem to understand or like that he really is just a bench scorer. And that's fine - its not like they grow on trees - but he clearly isn't developing the IQ or defensive intensity needed to actually be a starter on a winning team

Schröder makes the same as Melton ($13,025,250 vs. $12,822,000), is expiring, and can be traded again at the deadline.

Can't win with Kuminga - you bring him off the bench and people claim that he's not getting developed... start him and people complain about Draymond's role...

So we really want to make a big move at the deadline? In this system? That's slamming the window shut for this year and likely making a rebuild tougher going forward. Easy pass

Dray not off the bench had also been a disaster recently.

A player has to be good for you to showcase him. The book is out on JK. Playing him or not playing him rn isn't effecting his trade value.

Eh there’s differing opinions on this board and we’ve watched him extensively for 4 years. We just need 1 gm to think they can get value out of him. If we can get a 1st for him I’d take it and run.

Another casualty of showcasing jk is that slomo is getting moodied.

Jk is a good player with very specific skill sets. The problem right now is that he's doing more than he's capable of. I was running through our offensive stats and playtype, it's ugly with him. The higher his usg, lower his efficiency on higher volume. Kerr is experimenting and it's hurting us.

lol Kuminga can punish smaller weaker players if he has a mismatch and thats about it. What a sick set of very specific skills

False!!! All numbers indicates that we are at our best when he is at the 5.
In last two seasons
GSW +7.98 nrtg Green at 5
GSW +2.21 nrtg Green at 4
and
GSW Curry/guard/Wiggs/Kuminga/Green +16.34nrtg
Also who cares waht he says? It looks more and more that he doesn't know what he is doing. GSW in last 10 games 2W and 8L. Kerr used 57 different units in 4 quaters in this period. f..g 57 untis!!!! Players are confused, they lose their ritm and don't understand their roles.
