I think Sacramento's best course of action will be to continue looking for pieces that work with Fox/Sabonis, but in the event Fox requests a trade I like this 3-team deal that I think keep the Kings competitive and helps with some roster balance for the other teams involved.

The big swap here is Fox for Zion. I don't think Sacramento should look to tear it down if Fox asks out. Zion gives them a replacement star. I think Murray (who's had a slump year) and Carter can grow to overtake the roles of vets like Conley and DeRozan as sort of natural succession to those positions. Hope is also that Donte can bounce back to his New York production, Minnesota just seems like a bad fit for whatever reason.


Timberwolves:

Murray/Dillingham
Edwards/NAW
Huerter/Minott/TSJ
McDaniels/Lyles
Gobert/Reid

Wolves also shake it up after a slow start. Get a more dynamic point guard in Murray and some shooting in Huerter and Lyles. They move on from the main pieces in the KAT trade. Murray and Edwards both play with a competitive edge that will either mes greatly or be a disaster - I do recognize the risk here.

Pelicans move off Zion and Murray for a Fox and Randle swap at those positions. You're likely to get much more availability from this group and it's likely a talent upgrade overall too. Some odd fitting pieces post-trade like McCollum and Ingram, the latter who is set to expire and might simply not be part of the Pelicans future plans. I like Murphy and Jones alongside Fox and Randle.

The Huerter/DDV swap is not legal for Minnesota.

Not sure if that kills the rest of the deal. I think Sabonis/Zion pairing is a major issue personally.

If Sac does theirs, you likely just have Minn do Murray/Lyles for Randle/DDC/+? and look to a fourth team to dump Huerter and the deal could be saved.

I talked about this in another thread. Mike took a discount to stay in Minnesota. It is the belief of the Wolves fan base that Mike has a no trade promise. Mike does not want to move his family or be away from them. To trade him against his will in this circumstance would likely devastate team morale (Mike is Ant’s mentor and beloved in the locker room.) Not even looking at the other merits I don’t think Mike should be used in trade discussions.

Just shooting from the hip here from the MIN side, so I apologize if I offend anyone on value ..

I think there is potential here, but it might need fourth team. I agree Mike Conley is unlikely to be traded, but several Wolves fans have clamoured for Dijounte Murray eventually taking over as Conley takes a smaller role. Maybe this makes Dillingham available to a fourth team, to get SAC a starting PG.

Jaden McDaniels may have grown to 6-11, but he’s still a thin SF, so moving Randle probably means Naz Reid is the PF. MIN could use a third big, and SAC provides one in Trey Lyles. I’d be more interested in (local) Keegan Murray than Huerter, despite the slump.

Hard to give up DiVincenzo, who I think was the key piece in the Towns trade, not Randle. Finch has always wanted a guy who can hit three’s in the run to make his offense go, and the best he’s ever had was Malik Beasley. Still, with NAW emerging and roster crowding at SG, this might be viable.

Lastly, MIN needs to focus on having the money this summer to pay Naz and NAW - the other goal of the KAT trade. I think a deal could be found here that does that.

For the Wolves I think that the DiVincenzo/Huerter part of the trade is a deal killer. Not only would Minnesota have no interest in moving Donte, but taking back the $18M Huerter is owed next year would make re-signing Naz and NAW impossible. This should be a pretty easy no for the Wolves.

I hate this for Sacramento, personally. There seems like there's been a lot better deals posted for Fox I'd take if I were them over Zion. If they wanted Zion, seems like they'd be able to take one of the rebuilding packages from Houston, S.A., or Orlando, and then give half of it for Zion.

1. Naz is not getting traded. We are moving Randle to promote him to starting PF and to finalize him as the KAT replacement.

2. You want Murray, what are you willing to spend to get him. He cost NOP a ton.

3. You say you want to start working on a deal but exclude players and don’t say what you are willing to part with.
