Patrick Williams offers, value

Post#1 » by Astaluego » Mon Dec 30, 2024 11:21 pm

I read that the Bulls would be willing to move him... what kind of offer would you make or what would Chicago want...?

I personally like the Mavs, I think their defense/size and 3-point shooting would look great in Dallas.

Maxi/Grimes +FRP25(currently 26) for P.Williams/C Duarte or Carter(TPE)+ SRP(currently 36)

The real Bulls would probably only be willing to move him for a somewhat overpay, he's their first big bet as a front office duo and these dudes have proven overly loyal to "their" guys.

Personally any reasonable pick and expiring salary would have him on a plane.

I like Williams and wouldn't mind him in Utah. He's been a metronome of consistency, though his midrange efficiency has dropped a bit this year. If I were the Bulls I'd hang on to him.

I don’t see Dallas doing a deal despite trying a few a couple weeks ago.

Don’t see them moving on from Klay as others pointed out. And I don’t know if “Maxi, Powell, Grimes, Exum for Patrick Williams and two true vet mins” is a good idea once you still have to pay Chicago for Patrick Williams.

The one twist I could try would be if you build a three team deal around Maxi/Gafford for Williams/useful backup center. Maybe Dallas doesn’t want to trade their first or move on from Grimes hopefully..

Would be a good buy low guy for the Grizz. I think him at the starting 3 could do wonders for his consistency.

He has zero positive value on that contract. Bulls would be lucky to get expiring salary and a SRP.

Sixers... maybe?

KJ Martin, Drummond, Gordon, Jackson gets there salary-wise (they'd need to go buyout shopping after that, but that keeps their top 7 in place).

OKC '26 1st as the actual compensation.

I dunno. Feels like an underwhelming offer, and yet one I'm not even sure I'd put on the table. He's always going to be tantalizing as a guy that checks a lot of boxes, and at his age I'm sure someone could convince themselves of him just needing a change of scenery.

How about Tidjane Salaün, Nick Richards plus 2025 (pick 31) and 2027 Pelicans 2nd round picks?

Something I liked before Chicago rumors of rebuild..

Grant and Reath for Williams, Carter, Duarte

Chicago gets the better more expensive player. Portland takes the chance on the younger forward

Martin and a third second is probably is good enough here..

First time I have ever heard someone refer to Pat as a model of "consistency." Mediocrity is more like it.

I believe the trade works as is, putting the Bulls 10 million from the luxury tax. Their 20 million deal to Lonzo expires.

They can make further upgrades in free agency.

But I'm not going to let Cody Martin of all players be a deal breaker. It's up to the Bulls and how they want to spend.

Now having Nick Richards (plus a cheap reboot at PF with Salaün), they can move Vuc for expirings and 2nds and broaden their investment in free agency.

It's not all Hornets fans, but a growing number.

Some just want to scratch lottery tickets all day. I've seen enough of this guy.

He's a bench piece at best, and maybe a 9th guy in a playoff rotation. So if he were a Knicks pick, he'd never see the floor in the playoffs.

I've read that he can't finish around rim. Is that true?
