Best offers for Cam Thomas
I wanted to throw Cam Thomas out as a player who I think Brooklyn should think about moving for assets. He is young, he is a fantastic individual scorer, but small scoring combo guards are everywhere and right now the differentiating factor between he and someone like Sexton/Simons/etc. is that he is still on a rookie contract. This might result in a nice offer for Brooklyn that helps set up the rebuild. So, what teams would be interested in and what could they offer?

I'm going to throw Philly into the mix with Jared McCain.

Re: Best offers for Cam Thomas
The Magic make a ton of on-court sense, but payroll-wise, even if Cole Anthony and Jett Howard are in the deal with a couple firsts, I'm not sure it's possible for them.
Agree that Philly also makes a lot of sense. They could use a scoring 6th man and McCain won't help them this year and Thomas might still be better next year. Nets save 20M a year or so (assuming Thomas gets like low to mid 20s as an RFA) with that exchange, and if they wanna go big in the better 2026 + 2027 free agencies after a 2 year tank, that extra 20M in room might be pretty valuable, try to squeeze in a max guy and another 30-40M or so player player along with McCain, their four 2025 firsts and their 2026 1st, Cam Johnson and Claxton and that's 10 guys, so if they go like 3/5 in the draft the next 2 summers with their firsts in terms of getting rotation players, that's an 8 man rotation.

I do not see the Nets moving off him. They have to pay someone since they are losing massive contracts coming off the books shortly and will likely deal CamJo for an expensive expiring, a prospect, and 2 or 3 firsts.

Re: Best offers for Cam Thomas
The problem with him is what is his next contract going to be? That makes me think the best fits are teams like Celtics, Suns, Lakers, Bucks, Nuggets etc... who are already committed heavily to winning in the short-term that they don't care if they end up overpaying him this summer. Just lean further into being all in and his contract being so cheap right now makes a trade realistic without having to give up a big contributor salary wise to match...

Re: Best offers for Cam Thomas
I think the best player on any team who also happens to be on a rookie contract does not come cheap.
For the right price I am sure the Nets would let him go but who has the assets to pay that price?

I would happily listen to offers on Cam Thomas and move him for the right one.

Not sure what Orlando can offer for it to make sense for Philly, but I would definitely be on phone trying to work something out for McCain.

He's approaching RFA and would be best suited coming off the bench on a good team. I could see expiring contracts and a mid to late first.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

He's offensively outstanding, young, on a great contract, and is only getting better. I do not think he will be traded. If so, it would take a massive overpay for BK to even think about it before he signs his extension.

We don’t know what contract he’ll get in RFA and historically these offense only combo guards become hard to move once they get paid. This archetype player is a dime a dozen.

Zero chance the Sixers consider that. A two-way guard with three more seasons on a cost controlled contract versus the most one dimensional guard in the league who is set to be a RFA this summer. He can get on a heater, but he's allergic to passing and doesn't play a lick of defense.

That article was pretty hollow, but I guess we can all have dreams?

I think the Kings offer will be Kevin Huerter, Colby Jones a 1st round pick and a pick swap.

What is the value of 75% of Booker on the market with his contract now? I am asking for a few hundred thousand friends...

I just said what I think their offer will be(which is the title of this thread). I never said the Nets would accept it.
