Kings | Heat

Here's another Jimmy trade that I think works really well for both teams.

Heat Trade ($51.6M) & cut 1 player (TBD)
Butler + Alec Burks + Keshad Johnson

Kings Trade ($50.3M)
DeRozen + Huerter + Trey Lyles + Colby Jones

Heat get rid of their Butler headache. They cut their tax bill ~$1.5M. They get players to help Heat stay competitive, but without long-term bad salaries (Lyles is expiring & DeRozen is only guaranteed $10M in '26-'27). Jones provides some cheap 'interesting' talent for the Heat to develop.
I think Heat would have to waive 1 player... Im guessing it would be Richardson at this point.

Kings get Butler to help keep Fox in town. Burks comes along to help provide some outside shooting. This would keep Kings out of the Tax. It would be an easy 'all-in' move without sacrificing future flexibility

Can we stop with this Butler will help keep Fox in town? Why isn't it Butler will make Fox want out? What actually makes people believe that a guy that has burned the place he is in on the way out is going to make a guy who hasn't even said he wants out of Sacramento, stay?
Let's be clear. If the Kings do this, they need to include Jimmy in the coaching search. Now, you believe it's going to lead to Fox staying. So he is in the coach search too and Klutch is going to make sure of that. There would be so many things colliding against one another that this simply screams disaster for Sacramento, and Fox asking for a trade and Jimmy being a malcontent $52m expiring salary at absolute best, or worse a multi year contract after an extension at god knows what amount.

For as good as Jimmy is, it's not worth it. The Kings would be much better off trading Fox in the off season and getting max value and moving forward with the current roster plus more depth and a different star.
