Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jan 11, 2025 3:06 pm

The NBA has announced that the Houston Rockets at Atlanta Hawks game on Saturday has been postponed. The game was scheduled to be played at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

The Atlanta area has been dealing with severe weather and hazardous icy conditions for the last few days. The league cited the safety of players, fans and staff as the reason for the postponement.

A makeup date will be announced at a later date.

It's amazing that insurance companies spend money on naming stadiums and paying out profits rather than the act of what insurance companies are actually for.. Soon these companies will only insure in the most profitable areas and leave the government hence to tax payer to do the rest.. If that the case the tax payer should take it all so they are aren't just getting the losses..

I have a lifelong friend who moved from NY to a suburb just outside Atlanta six years ago. When I saw the game was PPD, I asked him how bad it was. He laughed and said it was 2” of snow and some ice.

Georgia simply isn’t equipped to deal with any type of winter precipitation, severe (which this clearly is not) or otherwise.
