Franz Wagner remains out for the Orlando Magic, but his recovery from a torn oblique is moving in the right direction. Wagner is now being listed as out due to "return to competition reconditioning". Wagner gave an update on Tuesday that matched that status.
"Pretty much the muscle is not the issue at this point. It’s more of getting back in shape, making sure that I check all of the boxes before I go play a game," Wagner said.
Orlando recently welcomed Paolo Banchero back from a similar injury. They've been without Wagner since December 6. Neither Wagner nor the team have given an indication on when he'll be back in the lineup, but this update indicates the fourth-year wing is closing in on a return.
