Wemby's already a superstar

Spurs need to slingshot with free agents now before the rookie extensions kick in

Wemby already a top 5 player in his 2nd year.

I don't think you can win a title with wemby as the number one option. He's like Pippen to me, an all time good second option. Well see, but I dont think he has the tools or skillset.

He's incredible, but I do feel like the Spurs need to go get someone either in FA this summer or via trade. If 3rd year superstar Wemby doesn't make it into the playoffs it will be a big let down for the NBA for sure. With Lebron, Steph and KD all on the way out and other up and coming players lacking some of that superstar power/draw I think Wemby and the Spurs being in the playoffs next year is probably a big deal for the league.

Am I gonna get ostracized if I say he shoots WAY too many threes?

Give it a chance IMO.

Teams are starting to see him a second time now and figuring things out, but that will change and Wemby will adjust back.

Today against the Heat was the second straight game a big from the opponent's bench outplayed Vic.

I think he looks a bit tired.

He'll figure it out.

Ease your concerned hearts, Wemby is a 95 in 2K now that means he's really good at basketball.

He's averaging 24 ppg and is one of the best defensive players in the league. Just turned 21. This is not his final form…

Giannis won one. Granted he had a perfectly built team around him and they all decided to play properly once they figured out they could manhandle their finals opponents.

Dude can put up 25 a game easily right now which is obviously ahead of where the other guy was.

If his step back three/off the dribble three becomes what he's trying to make it become. He can even be the rare big man that can get the ball in crunch time plays up top. He's obviously not there yet though.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... his frame does scare me and it should scare everyone else. I am all for Wemby having a LeBron like career where he just doesn't suffer a single major injury until like... idk, his 18th season (and hell, let's just not have him suffer one at all)? But that body and the way he's built makes me think he's due for one. History just hasn't been kind to players like him. Let's hope he's the anomaly.

For the record, when the third thread of this series starts after 100 pages…I will still not be concerned.

Carry on.

How though? We’ve never seen a big man with the tools/skill set that Wemby has. When he gets stronger and stops shooting so many threes he will be unstoppable on the offensive end. Well he will be be unstoppable on both ends..

Im not concerned in the slightest about Wemby himself. Its the rest of the team that people should be worried about and who the Spurs plan pairing with him for the future. They need a dynamic scoring guard to take the offensive load off Wemby whose both young but also a decent/good passer that can lob it to him for easy buckets. The rest of the team should fill itself out once they acquire that person, whoever it will be.

They are in a weird position now, because they are too good to get a top pick, but not good enough to compete, and they lack the young talent to make a significant trade for help.

For the season sure, but they have a treasure cb sat do draft picks to package in a trade and cap flexibility to nab that #2 star. They are probably second to only the Thunder for options
