Starters v. Reserves

Post#1 » by penbeast0 » Mon Jan 27, 2025 9:55 pm

In a 7 game series played between these two teams (shorten the games to 32 minutes so we don't have to worry about a bench), who would win:

Wiz Starters:
Sarr
Kuzma
Coulibaly
Poole
Carrington

or

Wiz Reserves:
JV
George
Kispert
Champagnie
Butler

Whichever team you picked, what one player swap with the other do you think would most help the team you didn't pick (must swap C for C, PF for PF, etc.)?

I would say that among the starters, Coulibaly over Kispert and Poole over Champagnie are the strongest edges.

Kuzma v. George is a bit of a wash with Kuzma being capable of much better play but also having so many horrible games that George not demanding the ball and working harder on defense might give him the edge.

I think JV has played better than Sarr by a strong margin despite the rookie's shotblocking and Butler has clearly outplayed Carrington though of course when Sarr and Bub hit their 20s, they will hopefully have passed the reserves by.

I think the reserves win pretty easy. Partly because Kuzma and Poole are such overall poor players. But the reserves have a lot going for them. JV is a true pro, and he would absolutely dominate Alex right now. Champ IMO is a winning player, but the real difference here is Butler. Every time Jared plays he produces.

In fact, that is my swap: Butler for Bub and I think the starters look a lot better.

I really hope they convert Jared's contract eventually. Long run I think he can be a starting pg in the league. Still a little too small on defense but he competes.
