I am too, but that would have been as true with Glen. The only thing Wolves fans have right now is questions. What we really need are answers.

Well, it’s good that there’s a resolution at least.

I hope these guys can find a deep pocketed partner who wants to build a good, winning team. I loathe the involvement of PE firms in NBA ownership. They don’t have the stomach for it.

By all accounts these guys are enthusiastic and well liked. They just don’t have money.

This is messy, now Wolves need some serious investment to get back on their feet after Kat-randle trade.

I don't think Arod and Lore provide that

ARod and Lore told the other owners and their lender their plan was to not just duck the second apron, but to cut payroll and get under the lux.

But many jubilant Wolves fans think they were lying, and they’ll buy them all ponies.

That means one of Reid/NAW is gone and they better hope Randle declines his PO..

Wolves fans all know Naw is likely gone and are okay with it, Clark is poised to take his spot in the lineup.

Either way I think the fans lose. Neither group seemed willing to go into the tax for a few seasons.

They reportedly did add Michael Bloomberg last summer as well.

We’ll see. I still believe in the liquidity of the trade market, so if Connelly can sign NAW for a team-friendly contract, it would convert the Wolves Bird rights into a tradeable asset.

But I am very worried about ARod/Lore slashing of payroll, I am concerned that ARod will interject himself intoConnelly’s basketball operations, and there is a slim chance the team gets sold or moved. Say what you want about Glen Taylor, but those three things were never a risk before.

PE firms in any ownership is generally a disaster. They're all about executive pay and short-term profits and a disaster for both workers and customers.

My understanding was this was part of the paperwork for acquiring the team. They had to show multiple financial situations and the ability to make payroll in all of them. To that end they laid out multiple scenarios including one where the team gets under the tax. I could be wrong and they legit plan to duck the tax going forward. But, I classify this much closer to a variable than a known fact.

Honestly there best course of action is to see what the deals are like to re-sign Randle, Naz and NAW. They should look to keep the 2 that are the best value deals (not cheapest but best value).

Then they should move McDaniels as a cost-cutting move. Get a couple rookie contract players that show promise.

That’s what Lore/Arod fans said later, when the news of the ONE plan they gave to the Board of Governors and their lender Carlisle that they would cut payroll down under the lux was leaked.

My understanding is different, and their base case was below the tax not some fancy outlandish case.

Interestingly, it was supposedly a 2-1 decision. I assume the full decision will leak shortly and we can see more about why 1 judge would feel okay saying no to Lore?

Winforlose taught me a lesson that hands off owners can be a disaster (Cuban wouldn’t have allowed Doncic trade), and hands on owners who meddle in basketball decisions can also be a disaster.

Taylor was the former, and throughout his tenure empowered his GMs to do whatever they wanted. However Glen’s problem was he picked bad GMs. At the end, he took that power away from himself, and Rosas and Connelly have both improved the Wolves fortunes.

This is why I have the tax as one of the key questions in my original post in this thread. Lore and AROD are saying they are willing and able to pay the tax going forward. They have made a lot of high cost moves toward that reality. So I am hesitant to believe one position or the other without more evidence.

No, they haven't yet.
