End to end speed (Fastest)

Post#1 » by mdonnelly1989 » Sat Feb 22, 2025 4:43 am

I think that there is not a big difference in end to end speed all in primes between

Russell Westbrook
Derrick Rose
John Wall
D-Fox
Also Ty Lawson is right there but just a smidge below on eye test.

I’m assuming we are talking about with the ball in hand, and in that case, I think prime rose RW, Wall, and Rose wet on another level than Fox and Lawson.

Obviously it does get murky though, because for someone like Lawson, his lesser relative strength/size/finishing ability probably made it tougher for him to run full speed with the ball as often as the other 3.

Maybe in an empty court or in specific situations he would hang with the other, but the whole premise changes when we’re talking about an empty court.

Ball in hand, (two-legged) Ivey is about as fast as anyone I’ve seen.

You do realize that Rose and John Wall were considered the fastest of all time in their prime right?

Not sure what you mean not even close?

Tony Parker has a recorded 4.28 40 yard dash if I am not mistaken.

Until people realized that Asian dude named Jeremy Lin was head to head with those two in every measurable category…

I'd put Dwight the Blur Anderson up against anybody although in a short sprint a smaller guy might have the advantage so Brevin Knight could be the fastest end-to-end ever.

I heard of Derrick Rose and a 4.18 yard dash as well and I think he was faster than Parker.

There were several threads about in realgm over the years.

I’m not saying it’s impossible but it’s pretty close imo. Those are track numbers. A 4.28 would imply a 100m time low 10s. I just don’t believe Tony Parker is that fast. I don’t think rose is that quick either. I can see him running in the 4.3s in his prime.

NFL corners who train similar to track athletes for the combine and are better athletes than nba players run in the 4.2s at the top tier.

I was going to add Tony Parker, guy was lightning quick

I'd go with DRose out of those guys, the difference is not really much with all these guys anyways

There is a difference between acceleration and speed.

I think in terms of acceleration, Rose, Parker, Lawson are up there. But top end speed give me John Wall. Over a full length basketball court I think John Wall will gain on these guys and end up winning. Think Usain Bolt catching up to everyone in the 100m
