Richard Jefferson Officially Joins ESPN's Top NBA Broadcast Team For Remainder Of Season

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Feb 24, 2025 3:05 pm

Richard Jefferson will officially join Mike Green and Doris Burke as ABC/ESPN's top broadcast team. The booth has been in flux since the network parted ways with Jeff Van Gunde and Mark Jackson after the 2023 Finals. Doc Rivers was the initial replacement, but he left to become head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks in January 2024 and was then replaced by JJ Redick. After the 2024 Finals, Redick left the booth to become head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Jefferson, 44, has worked with Breen and Burke all season, including during the In-Season Tournament. Jefferson, however, is on an expiring contract and has interest from Amazon to join its No. 1 team. Amazon has already hired Ian Eagle as its lead play-by-play caller. Eagle and Jefferson have called games together for years on YES Network.
