The Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings are considered the teams most likely to trade for Kirk Cousins. The Vikings are least likely to consummate a trade for Cousins out of that group as he previously played for the franchise.
The Falcons have made clear they are moving forward with Michael Penix as their starter, and Cousins has told Fontenot, along with head coach Raheem Morris and team owner Arthur Blank, that he would rather play somewhere else as a starter.
“There are a lot of phone calls this time of year with me and other GMs,” Fontenot said. “Like with any player, we’re going to do what is best for this football team.”
Cousins was guaranteed $90 million at the signing of his deal and earned a $10 million roster bonus in March.
