Milwaukee out: Dame, Connaughton
Milwaukee in: Green, Grant
Portland out: Grant, Simons
Portland in: Dame, Whitmore
Houston out: Green, Whitmore
Houston in: Simons, Connaughton
Why for Milwaukee: try to stay competitive with giannis
Why for Portland: get out of last yr of grants deal. get good PR for tanking one more year then competing with Dame and high 2026 pick. get a prospect for simons.
Why for Houston: upgrade backcourt/get out of Green's deal
Maybe houston owes a bit more value?

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

No, but maybe some modifications can be made by taking the Bucks out. Blazers could use Thybulle or Rob Williams to replace Connaughton’s salary.

Absolutely not in the current form.
This version would be acceptable:
Milwaukee out: Kuzma, Connaughton
Milwaukee in: Grant
Portland out: Grant, Simons
Portland in: Green, Kuzma, Whitmore
Houston out: Green, Whitmore
Houston in: Simons, Connaughton
Ideally the Bucks would be cut from the trade:
Portland in: Green, Whitmore
Houston in: Simons, Thybulle (or RWIII)

Re: Houston - Portland - Milwaukee (no giannis)
I’m all in on tanking one more year and making a real run at AJ Dybantsa or Cameron Boozer. Add this year’s lottery pick to that, and now you’ve got the kind of talent foundation that justifies a rebuild. Honestly, trying to win without securing at least one true star out of the draft — after already tanking for two seasons — would be a complete waste. Portland absolutely should’ve gone all-in for Cooper Flagg, but instead Cronin and Billups padded the record late by beating other tanking teams just to make it look like progress. It wasn’t.
Now we’re in the worst spot: too bad to compete, not bad enough to pick top 3. If there’s ever a time to commit to a final reset, it’s now.
Let’s be real — Jerami Grant wants out because Camara and Deni straight-up took his role and did it better. And Scoot can’t fully develop while Simons is still here. The fix? Attach Simons to Grant, let a team bite on Simons’ value, and you offload Grant’s deal without having to burn a pick. Clean solution.
Meanwhile, Giannis probably leaves Milwaukee after next year, which makes those swap rights and future Bucks picks gold. And once you strip this thing down and hand the keys to the kids, you’re looking at a true rebuild core with:
This year’s lottery pick
Next year’s top pick (hopefully Dybantsa/Boozer)
Scoot Henderson
Donovan Clingan
Shaedon Sharpe
Deni Avdija
Toumani Camara
That’s five lottery picks plus two studs, all under 26, all on manageable contracts, and all with real upside on both ends. Build that the right way — spacing, defense, IQ — and you’ve got the foundation of a future contender.
And hey, once that core is in place? Dame comes home to retire in Portland the right way. Let him be the veteran presence for a team that actually has a shot in a few years — not just running it back with fake play-in hopes and bloated contracts.

Blazers didn’t even tank this year lol. Sorry to disappoint you but we’ll probably be playoff ready in 26

It seems they’ll shoot for the playoffs, but they were pretty healthy this season, especially compared to the previous seasons. With health, they make it to the play-in where we will see what happens, but if they are a bit less fortune with health than this season, we easily can be looking at another 9th/10th pick in the 2026 draft.
