The most predictable lottery in the world

Post#1 » by cpower » Tue May 13, 2025 12:30 am

That is the NBA lottery. Over past 30 years you got:

Mavericks winning with 1.8% odds in 2025
Hawks winning with 3% odds in 2024
Cavaliers winning with 1.7% odds in 2014
Bulls winning with 1.7% odds in 2008
Magic winning with 1.5% odds in 1993

The rig is accelerating.

I am gutted and so sorry for Wizards and Hornets fans. I really thought you guys would have been in the top 3.

The Spurs been on a generational run.

They really trying to put everything around Wemby for him to be successful.

He is such a generational talent, the league just cannot afford to waste his unique career on a losing team. No doubt the Spurs better put together a winner fast or he is gone.

It's funny how blatant it is too.

LeBron is signing with the Cavs? Let's give them the first pick (2.8% odds) so they can trade it for an All-Star.

LeBron is returning to the Cavs and needs help? Let's give them first pick (1.7% ofds) so they can trade it for an All-Star teammate.

The Pelicans helped the Lakers and LeBron by giving them their superstar? Here is the #1 pick (6%} as consolation.

The Mavs helped the Lakers and LeBron by giving them their superstar? Here is the #1 pick (1.8%) as consolation.

I'm not saying LeBron is calling the the shots here. He's not even in on the rig. But the league is absolutely rigging the system to increase the value of their product.

The poor Magic only got the number 2 pick for gifting the Lakers their superstar.

And the Lakers always magically got picks in the protections for the pick they gave us.

Just curious... Why would the owners agree to this?

The league has revenue sharing.

Also, if the league increases in value, so does every individual team. I would imagine the Lakers and/or LeBron (the face of the league) being good does more for the value of the Hornets, Jazz, and Wizards than those teams being good themselves.

The rigbros should all be wealthy since it's so obvious what's going to happen. The fact they are not and are mostly poor and whining on the internet shows it isn't rigged, except in the past tense once the "obvious" thing happened.

Clear as day man. Everyone knows ratings are down. The league promised the Mavs the #1 pick if they sent Luka to the Lakers to play with Lebron therefore increasing ratings. That trade still makes me sick.

What makes you think the Wizards, Hornets, Jazz and Pelicans owners aren't infuriated right now?

How do people even explain that trade coming off an appearance in the finals the year prior? I knew it was set up by the NBA I just wasn’t sure how. Not anymore

It's not just the top result either. I watched the lottery with my brother because we had a bet on who would win the lottery, I thought it would be rigged for Dallas and he thought it would be rigged for San Antonio. That became tense once Portland was revealed as #11 meaning the Mavs had indeed jumped into the top 4. Then the Spurs jumped making the bet even more interest and also meant Philly was in danger of losing their pick to OKC if they didn't jump and I predicted on the spot they would jump right then because them sending their pick to OKC after the Embiid injury would just be wrong, and I was proven right within under a minute. We both immediately called Charlotte at #4 when it was whittled down to four teams and we were right because Charlotte can't have anything nice. We both figured it would be Philly #3, right again and it was now the moment of truth for our bet. He thought the Spurs would get it because the NBA just loves them for some reason and they wanted to pair Flagg with Wemby. I thought the Mavs were promised Cooper Flagg as part of the Luka deal. We all know now
