This is the Milwaukee decides to deal Giannis thread. They might not, different thread (but poll has option to stay).
First, which teams are in play?
OKC, Houston, SA and now Dallas seem at the top of the list.
NO could make a strong play to upgrade from Zion (or just pick up pieces for those Mil pick/swap).
There might be some dark horse that bids but most teams would cripple themselves so not likely.
1) Starting with NO because their offer is simple.
NO out - Zion, Herb, #7, delete 2026 swap, best of NO/MIL 2027 1st.
NO in - Giannis
- MIL could run with this or, add a third/fourth team
DAL out- PJ, Klay, Powell, CMartin, #1
DAL in- Zion, Herb, NJovic
MIA out - #20, Jovic (could be removed if too much), Rozier's corpse
MIA in - PJ, CMartin
MIL out - Giannis
MIL in - #1, #7, #20, delete 2026 swap, best of NO/MIL 2027 1st, Rozier, Powell, Klay
NO logic - upgrade pf. Murray/CJ/Murphy firepower with Missi/Oly inside and Hawkins/Alvarado for G depth.
MIL logic - Get three picks, one being Flagg, and have two years of picks back.
MIA logic - get PJ on the cheap.
DAL logic - Zion and Herb would be great additions (If Zion healthy). I think this only works if DAL tries to get Giannis for Flagg and is rebuffed, so this works to send more to MIL.
2) Dallas
DAL out- PJ, Klay, Powell, CMartin, #1, 2029 LAL 1st
DAL in- Giannis
Logic - Dallas should offer this - especially if in "win now" mode as stated when they dealt Luka. I do not think MIL takes this though and Dallas does not have much else to add.
3) SA
Honestly, this is similar to Dallas but #2 instead of #1 and can add Castle and other picks.
SA out- #2, Castle, future picks [best of 2026 SA/ATL, best of 2028 BOS/SA, 2030 best of DAL/SA/MINN]
SA in- Giannis, (could add Portis for filler if wanted)
MIA out - #20, Rozier's corpse, KAnderson, KLove
MIA in - Barnes, KeldonJ
MIL out - Giannis
MIL in - #2, #20, expirings (Rozier, KAnderson, KLove), Castle, future picks [best of 2026 SA/ATL, best of 2028 BOS/SA, 2030 best of DAL/SA/MINN]
logic - SA becomes scary. MIA adds cheap help. MIL gets Castle/Harper backcourt and some nice future picks. Would try to add NO for those next two picks but might do it without them involved.
4) OKC
Only if MIL tries to win now and thinks JWill is enough to do so. Then, #15, #24, IHart, Topic and Dieng plus a lot of future picks.
5) HOU
Houston in - Giannis, Portis
MIL in - #10, JGreen, Sheppard, Jabari, Whitmore, 2027 best of HOU/BKN/PH, 2029 two best of HOU/PHX/DAL
- Would try to re-route that 2027 pick (or Sheppard) to NO for those pick/swap back and filler. Houston improves with G and MIL gets multiple prospects and high value picks.

OKC if they fall short, HOU if OKC wins it all.
The more I think about SAS, the less I think it's a move that organization makes.

2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Walker

I think the Giannis trade for Houston could be what they fear a Durant trade would be. But think it guts their picks and youth and Giannis might age poorly sooner than everyone expects given his style of play. Durant fits with Sengun and Thompson. Giannis doesn’t and they will have to trade at least one of those guys in the trade.

Nets aren’t on the list but I think they are a dark horse. So are the Knicks if they fall short.

lol, I had them on the list but was limited to 10 so I took those two off.

Nobody's trading the number 1 for Zion
Dallas has the best trade piece, but theyve said theyre not moving it. SAS has the 2nd best trade piece and has enough ancillary pieces to make it tough to turn down. But MIL doesnt trade Giannis until he forces their hand, even if it is the best idea right now

Yeah its still dependent on Giannis saying I want out. And I'm not 100% sold he's there yet, though I do think the Dame injury has increased those odds. Though I still believe there are options for Dame deals that make sense.
But I would definitely have the Spurs as the most logical destination. I could absolutely see Giannis wanting to play there. Strongly disagree with the Nets fans who think he would prioritize the New York market based on one throwaway line in regards to Luka. And the Spurs should absolutely believe Giannis/Wemby/Fox makes them a contender or it just makes the Fox trade so incredibly stupid because if you aren't contenders adding Giannis you are never going to be contenders slowly building around Wemby/Fox.

Re: Giannis to where?
From that ESPN article saying Dallas was not trading Flagg:
Sources told ESPN that Patrick Dumont, who just finished his first year as the Mavs' governor, considers the opportunity to be in position to draft a generational talent such as Flagg a "gift." While Dumont has given Harrison great leeway to run basketball operations, the governor has final decision on all personnel matters.
"I don't know who we're going to take, but should we take him, I think his résumé is pretty strong," Mavs CEO Rick Welts said Tuesday. "Every time he's put in a situation that everyone wondered if he could succeed, he's succeeded and then some."
In other words, they do not know whether they are keeping him or dealing him, but they know saying they will keep him lets them drive the price up.
If they keep Flagg, he will help them but it will take a year or two for him to really develop. Davis is 32 and injury prone. Kyrie is 33 and seems like he is on his last leg - or back - or whatever has limited him. Those guys have a couple of years before they decline.
If you turn Flagg into Giannis, wow.
Or, just turn Flagg into three stud players, picks and so on. Not saying it is the best option, but what if you could turn Flagg into HJones, Brooks, Eason, or even Sengun and maybe some other young cheap guys with promise, picks back plus nice future picks? Might not do it - but would greatly increase odds to win the next three years.

He stays in Milwaukee. All this stuff is smoke. Haynes is the Milwaukee guy. If he starts reporting on it then it may be something to it.

Re: Giannis to where?
I voted that he stays in Milwaukee. Obviously biased, but gun to my head, I still think he ultimately decides to stay. This is the first time I've been legitimately nervous about him leaving though and I wouldn't blame him at all for potentially wanting out.
If not Milwaukee, I'm hoping for the Harper/Castle and more package from San Antonio but we'll see. I am at least kinda interested in what a trade with Philly or Orlando could look like and I have to imagine staying in the East could interest Giannis in the event he decides to leave Milwaukee.
