Giannis?
I know, I know... no **** way. But we said that about KD joining us.
On one hand, we lose in any bidding war. We don't have nearly the assets that a team like the Rockets does.
OTOH, Giannis has called Steph the best player in the league, and they've had obvious chemistry in the all-star game.
Here's the fun other factoid - Jeff Austin is agent to only two players in the league: Giannis and Steph
how implausible is this? give me hope in this bleak bleak offseason to come

Depends on how much the bucks love Jimmy. We know Jimmy wants to play with dame.

Re: Giannis?
Nobody is trading for Jimmy, he's only happy in a situation he likes and I can't see him wanting to go to the Bucks. Toxic situation in the making and we all know it.
Any big trade is for Dray+Kuminga, making it pretty darn unlikely.
I think Giannis would love to be here, but it's not happening.

ALL it takes is for the bromance Curry and Giannis have had for years to cause Giannis to simply insist that he wants to play for the Warriors.
Warriors then trade four first round picks, Podz, Kuminga, Draymond (matching salary stuff) (or sending Draymond to a contender for another dude's salary).
Look....If Luka can get traded to Lakers .... stuff can happen.
Curry, Jimmy, Giannis....mmmm....there, I at least got to write it here!

I mean, I'd love it too

But we would be hoping for a Luka-level trade, that's not easy to pull off. I do think Giannis would like to play with Curry, it's just not that feasible.

Re: Giannis?
Also, apparently Giannis was in SF yesterday as well. Now apparently he's here doing something for the Google I/O conference. But Lacob probably raced over there the second he heard, if he didn't already know about it. And who knows, maybe a meeting took place (about *wink wink* Google and technology). Remember Lacob hunting down Steve Kerr at the OKC airport on his way to take the Knicks job. Zero evidence any of this connects buuuuut I wouldn't shut the door on the idea.

Giannis‘s defense is cooked though. also we have to give up Jimmy and still get more shooting.. Not easy to build around him.

bigger issue i think is he cant pnr for ****
thats why he and dame didn't work
but dame can't run offball like steph so I think it would still work well

That would leave the Warriors with 8 players and a payroll of $180M. They would have $27M to work with to fill out the roster before they hit the 2nd Apron hard-cap. The FO would have their work cut out for them.

Is that two S&T players (JK and GP2)?

Post
Spencer
TJD
2 way guy?
6 players at the vet min = 12M, right? We'd then have the TPMLE to work with and some room under the 2nd apron afterwards. It would be an impossibly top-heavy roster unless a ton of people get squeezed in FA and want to come here to start at the 2 and 5 spots. Not impossible but other than contract flexibility, why would Mil do this? Hou will offer a ton and OKC might, especially if they don't win. And the 26/28 picks are a pipe dream, it would be 28/30/32 with little to no protections.

I counted your first 5 plus TJD, Gui (club exercises option) and Smith = 8 = $180M payroll. Hard-capped at the 2nd apron (projected $207M) so $27M to fill roster. TPMLE and minimums to work with. I agree that Bucks will get much better offers than this.

Curry, Jimmy, Giannis.
Anyone who claims that would be a problem because they couldn't put scrubs around them is being silly.

Re: Giannis?
If I was Milwaukee, I would focus on sending Giannis to NOP in a package that would return their remaining pick swaps because no picks they're going to be offered will be better than what they will be earning with a team starring Kyle Kuzma and Dame with a torn Achilles.
The hottest of takes...
Jester_ wrote:Hot take: Moses Moody shows the potential to be a star/#2 option ala Lauri Markkanen. Both the eye test and the advanced stats show a player with extremely high slope.

No chance. Giannis would go ballistic and the bucks will ruin their reputation for decades to come. Their best bet would be to find out what NOP wants for those picks, trade Giannis to a team that he wants to go to that has some of those things, and then flip those assets for their picks. e.g. get sengun and picks from Hou, trade Sengun for your own picks to NOP, assuming Sengun is someone NOP values enough to trade your picks back.

I mean Steph & Jimmy already have scrubs around them without Giannis, so adding him can only be better.
