Who’s having a better series? Kat or Myles Turner

I’m not asking who you think is a better player but OVERALL who is having a better series through 4 games so far?

I’m not voting, just want to vent about KAT. He makes maddeningly stupid decisions, and runs like he’s 55.

…and why doesn’t anyone bag on how out of shape he looks? By comparison, give Luka a damned break. KAT makes Joker look like a physical specimen.

Excellent talent and does a lot of positive stuff out there. He is what he is at this point in his career, and damn it must be (or have been) maddening as a regular experience if you are a Wolves or Knicks fan to see such a tantalizing talent who you just know will never put it all together.

I wouldn’t know cause I’m not with KAT in the summer obviously but I feel he’d benefit from working on easy stuff.

Setting screens properly
Defending without being handsy
Defensive location
Creating easy shot opportunities

He’s so gifted at doing difficult things in the court that I feel he overlooks the easy stuff

He’s finishing year 10 as an NBA player.

He’s never going to figure that simple stuff out. Thus why he’s such a maddening player given his high-end talent.

I think thats why Minnesota in the end traded him for **** Julius Randle. The guy has insane offensive talent but he is not putting you over the hump unfortunately.

Yeah, KAT is very weird player, because it is amazing how clumsy he often looks for a guy who is basically 25 ppg scorer in the NBA. Very unique, one of one.

It’s been stated that it was for cap relief. Just couldn’t afford to keep that group together.

If we're talking individual performances it's KAT pretty easily, despite him being frustrating at times and them currently being down 3-1 in the series.

Game 1: Turner has 13 and only 3 boards and fouls out, only member of the starting lineup without a positive +/-, KAT has 35 and 12 on 11/17 shooting and has the best +/- in the Knicks' starting lineup

Game 2: The script is flipped in game 2, Turner has 16 points and 3 boards and leads the starting lineup in +/-, this was KAT's biggest stinker of the series only 20 and 7 but on under 50% from the field and had the worst +/- on the team

Game 3: Myles Turner has a new high in rebounds in the series with 4, KAT led the charge with a 20 point 4th quarter to help land NY's only win so far and led the starting lineup in +/- like he did in game 1

Game 4: Turner with a lackluster 13 and 3 and is the only starter without a positive +/-, KAT with 24 and 12 and is the only member of the starting lineup with a positive +/-.

That's 3 out of 4 for KAT, this would already be a sweep if KAT wasn't outplaying Turner

Turner is usually the 4th or 5th option on offence for the Pacers. KAT is the second option on the Knicks. He's a much more dynamic player (on offence, at least). But Turner plays well within his role.

Towns is better in terms of nominal value, but if you ask me if I want Towns on 50$ million or Turner on 20$ million contract - it's Turner.

Kat is having the better series on an individual basis, but the Knicks need far more from Kat to win than the Pacers need from Turner. Kat is their 2nd best player so the better comp would probably be Siakam.

I'm as big a Turner fan as anyone, but clearly KAT is out playing him and the better overall player. Turner gets a lot of undeserved hate from a minority of idiot Pacer fans though.

It's still not that simple though. Completely different roles and what they bring to their respective teams. Turner is the 3rd, 4th sometimes 5th option. KAT has to be the Knicks 2nd option, sometimes 1st.

Turner is a elite shot blocker, one of the best I've ever seen, seriously. One of the better shooting bigs. KAT arguably is the best big man shooter. KAT is a elite rebounder. Myles is mostly a weak rebounder, though he's very good at boxing out so other guys can get the reb. He'll surprise at times and get a crucial board.

Myles just fits perfect with our team's style. He opens the lane up for Paskal and everyone else. He protects the rim. Sometimes when he's not in the game it looks like a layup line. Players don't even attempt the same shots when he's in.

KAT and Brunson are playing extremely well...on the stat sheets. We've also had nice individual performances from Hart, OG, Robinson, and even (though more rarely) Mikal. Our problem right now is that we're not playing good enough as a team, and we're up against an extremely well-coached opposition that takes advantage of any team lapses.

Swap Carlisle with Thibs and I truly think it's 3-1 Knicks right now (maybe 2-2). Still, it's been a great series, and even if we lose, I hope we can learn something from it.
RIP magnumt--you're literally why I'm still here on these boards.
RIP The Hater--keep up the good fight in the great beyond.

Turner isn't going to be on a 20 Million Contract in 1 month.

Uh, easily KAT. This series is 3-1 but it is a close 3-1. The average MOV is 2.7. The Pacers are beating the Knicks primarily because Indy is considerably deeper than NY and Haliburton is outplaying Brunson by a real margin.

I don't watch a ton of games during the season. This series is the first time I'm watching a lot of NBA action this season. I'm struck by how much contact there is at all times. I'm a Pacer fan, but this goes both directions. Guys are constantly pushing off of each other and just leaning into one another with or without the ball. I thought KAT stood out though for constantly hooking with that off arm and also for pinning guys with his arm to try and draw fouls. It just seems ludicrous. I agree with the consensus here that he's a good offensive player, but frustrating. He has amazing touch, but I don't feel like he makes good decisions. In addition to the contact I complain about whenever he has the ball, he just picks up dumb fouls like that one where he just grabbed somebody's hand at the top of the key when it didn't really create any advantage to do that. I'd much rather have KAT on my fantasy team than my IRL team. He's a better player than Turner, but I think Turner is easier to fit around.

I think the key is Kat works best without Brunson. Neither Kat or Brunson can defend. Kat worked well with the defensive bench. Honestly should have played the bench a bit more.

KAT's been fantastic. Even my soccer-playing girlfriend has been commenting on it.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

The problem for the Knicks is that Turner and Haliburton have been better together than KAT and Brunson. The latter are getting abused in the PNR whenever they're both on the court.
