OKC | POR | CHI
OKC has a roster crunch coming next season. They already have 15 quality guys under contract with 2 additional picks in a few weeks.
They already have Topic joining the team as a de facto rookie. I think they try to combine assets to move up in the draft.
OKC takes Dieng (owed ~$6M) and #15 and #24 to move up.
I don't think that is good enough of a package to get to #8... besides the Nets already have 4 picks and will want to move up themselves.
At #9, I don't think Raptors would be interested.
At #10, Rockets don't need more picks or youth.
Enter Portland at #11 with this trade:
OKC out: Dieng + 15 + 24
OKC in: 11
Thunder consolidate assets and get in a position to pick CMB or Newell.
Portland out: 11
Portland in: 15 + future pick returned + Carter
Blazers moves back a few spots to get the future pick owed to Chicago returned. While picking up a solid PG vet to help mentor/backup Scoot.
Chicago out: Carter + POR future 1st
Chicago in: Dieng + #24
Bulls take the pick now given the uncertainty that it ever conveys. The get a free look at Dieng to see if he has the potential to develop into an NBA player. (If Bulls would like to hang onto Carter - that would work as well)

I can't see Portland considering that. Deni and Clingan might be their two most valuable players. There's no reason to deal either (much less both) for extra depth (Portland's pretty good for depth as-is).

Feel like pipfan proposed diffrrent iterations of this except with dieng going to Chicago instead. Makes sense but you will need to wrestle dieng from him
I think OKC owes a few seconds to Portland

Yeah I like this. All player dependent but there are some guys I like in the mid lotto range.
2nds wouldn’t be a barrier imo.

Re: OKC | POR | CHI
I like it, albeit I would try to get #42 from OKC to target one of the numerous developmental C’s in this draft.
Carter might actually be a decent backup to Scoot assuming we move Simons.
Caveat here that if Noa is available at 11 I take him and move on.

Hard pass for POR.
POR wouldn’t move Deni alone for that.
Yuck.

You think Deni is worth 4 FRPs?
That's absurd, he's a role player

I suggested a simple Port pick for Dieng/#24. I think it's a great deal for both
I also like the 15-11 swap, and Port gets their pick back
I didn't include JCarter-Bulls have a TPE to absorb Dieng (don't want to be greedy)

Re: OKC | POR | CHI
I still believe that PORT getting their pick back is the greatest value for that piece.
I don't share the hero worship some have for Dieng, I don't see him playing ahead of Patrick Williams based on what he's done. I don't see PORT having any real use for an expiring Carter, also don't see why OKC does this. They give up Dieng, #15 and #24 to get #11, I'm sure they could get #12 from the Bulls for that directly, or take back Jevon Carter with #12 or just exchange the picks with no players

I think Deni is worth a mid lotto pick. Clingan as well. This deal severely undervalues both.
Hard pass.

Re: OKC | POR | CHI
I think the Portland/OKC part of this is logical and simple. If Portland wants to then try and follow up with Chicago, cool I guess;. I like the OP. Don't know why this got derailed into another Deni debate though. Hope discussion sticks to the idea in the OP.

Dieng will need to be extended season after. If he’s traded , his value is at best a mid second or realistically a late second .
OKC point of view to trade him is to clear a roster spot. Any value is gravy.

I would think about it for a minute if it were ONLY Deni (because I like Topic)... but in the end would decline this as well.
Including Deni + Clingan is an easy no.

Re: OKC | POR | CHI
Feels a little too good for Portland to get a FRP to only move down 4 spots, even if it's lotto protected. I like the premise though, maybe a few 2nds Chicago's way would do it

OKC will need a roster spot or two.
They will need to move on from one of the following: Dieng, K Williams, Mitchell, Jones, or Jaylin Williams.
Both Williams play and contribute. Mitchell and Jones are recent draft picks.
Dieng is the obvious player to move. It's either include him in a trade for 'minimal value' or to cut him.
