Kings Looking To Upgrade At Point Guard, Interested In Tyus Jones

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jun 5, 2025 6:21 am

The Sacramento Kings are looking to upgrade the point guard position this offseason, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The Kings are reportedly interested in Tyus Jones, who will be an unrestricted free agent.

Jones averaged 10.2 points and 5.3 assists this season for the Suns.

Rival teams also expect the Kings to explore the trade market for one of Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, or DeMar DeRozan either this offseason or by next year's trade deadline.

Well, it says quite a lot about your franchise when signing Tyus Jones would be an upgrade.

On the other hand the primary creator should be Sabas and they already have two disfunctional scorers, subpar defenders on the wings that probably nobody would trade for so they'd better focus on getting a lockdown D-guy on that position rather than an undersized PG.

Hmmm...guys like Haliburton or Fox would be a real upgrade. Oh, wait.

Yeah, he's a solid PG but more like a really good backup to have on a contender. I would like him more if he was bigger and better on D.
I like the thought of Holiday if he wasn't approaching 35, he may not have much time left. Good options imo are Nembhard or Pipper Jr.
though SPJ is a little small as well. Would like them to go bigger there, so maybe A.Black from Orlando. Cook up some deal, Demar/LaVine for Black, Isaac?

They traded for Lavine so they could "still compete"

What can they possibly get out of trading him, that they couldn't get out of Trading Fox? Ridiculous

If only they had a Tyrese Haliburton. Or De'Aaron Fox. Or Luka Doncic.

What a waste of an organization.
