Let's get Nico hung in effigy . . . again!

Post#1 » by penbeast0 » Fri Jun 13, 2025 2:08 pm

Charlotte deals LaMelo Ball and the #4 pick (a scorer -- Edgecomb, Bailey, Tre Johnson) for the #1 (Flagg) and Kyrie Irving.

Irving is injured, Anthony Davis isn't getting younger and Harrison bet the boat on improving the team by trading Luka for him. Dallas goes for it now.

Charlotte isn't winning with Ball, gets Cooper Flagg to build a legit two way hustle culture around, a year more of tanking, then can sign (or not sign) Irving at the year.

I don't think Ball is good enough to get Flagg.

Don’t like this for Dallas. No idea about value though.

But I think the salary should be Klay, Gafford, Martin and then figure out the value side of it? Really no idea about value (2x)

So Dallas gives up the best player and the best pick? Where do we sign up?

Yeah sorry this just isn't close.

Ball shouldn't have anywhere near this level of value

Kyrie is the best player? You value him a lot more than I do. I have it #1, Ball, #4, with Kyrie being little more than salary ballast. Don't think he works with Ball at all though which is why I used him instead of the Klay, etc. group of players.

The last time they were on the floor, yeah, Kyrie was better. It wasn't particularly close. You can discount future Kyrie for injuries but it's not like Ball has been an iron man himself.

I don't think Ball + #4 gets you to #1 anyway, so it's kind of a moot point in this context.

Ball may the player most unserious about winning that I've seen in over four decades of watching the league. The value dropoff from #1 to #2 is big; from #1 to #4 is immense. This is dreadfully light for Dallas.

I agree that Kyrie is better than Ball. Ball's trade value might be higher because of age, not coming off the ACL injury, contract status, etc, but Kyrie has been a better player than Ball, for sure.

To me, it's Dallas downgrading on picks while also downgrading on players just to avoid the fear of Kyrie coming off an ACL? And that's just not enough.

This doesn't get Nico hung in effigy. It gets him hung for real( this is Texas we are talking about,).

I know you think this is funny but lynching isn't funny nor are those of us in Texas just a bunch of rednecks stringing people up. Let's post content or let's just not.

And call me a snowflake all you want.

There is just no way DAL considers this.
