NBA Draft Thread 2025

Post#1 » by Clav » Thu Jun 19, 2025 8:43 pm

With the Finals going on we've pretty much hyper focused on that, but friends, isn't it a bit crazy that 3 days after G7 (if necessary) we have the Draft ? In one week, we will already know the 1st round's results! Anyway, I feel like a thread is in order because we're right around the corner from the newest batch of rookies entering the Association.

Thanks Clav! I had a thread like this on my to-do list but honestly I'm not very informed on most of the draft prospects this year and was kinda hoping someone else would do it haha. Much appreciated!
Gonna miss KP but he's no Georges Niang.

The dream is one of Thiero or Markovic are still on the board at 41 but realistically I'm hoping for one of Sion James, Tonje, Proctor, Watkins or Luis Jr. for my Warriors.

I find it really remarkable that most of the picks in the draft outside of the lottery (or top 9 really) were acquired by trade.

Picks 13 thru 27 were ALL acquired via trade.

Brooklyn is the 6th(!) different team to own the #19 pick. Bucks, Knicks, Pistons, Blazers, and Pelicans all owned and traded that pick previously.

Crazy.

Made a thread, but it didnt get traction, so will ask here. Who do you want your team to draft, not draft, and who do you think ends up drafted third?

I want my team, the Hornets, to draft VJ Edgecombe. But since he's the safest prospect in the tier after the top 2 I think he will end up going 3rd.

As for who I don't want the Hornets to draft that would be Ace Bailey and Kon Knueppel. Ace because I think there's no way in hell we'd be able to develop him into a winning player. And Kon because he benefited from playing on a stacked team and is not good enough to get taken in the top half of the lottery.

So if VJ Edgecombe is off the board I hope we draft Tre Johnson or Kasparas Jakucionis.

19. Brooklyn (from Milwaukee via New York, Detroit, Portland, and New Orleans)

That pick traveled around the NBA.

This isn't the 2014-15 Suns.

Spurs will take Harper and figure it out.

Harper is easily the 2nd best player after Flagg and a tier above anyone else. The Spurs are not a good enough team to be worrying about fit, they need to take BPA and worry about it later. All reports indicate that SA is set on Harper. And why do we have to trade Fox? Harper is a 6'6" PG who can play both positions (like Castle). Spurs will be fine.
