Lillard (signs with Blazers 7/17/25)
How about signing him to a minimum deal and have him back the same time as JT for a shot at redemption and a title?
Lillard/White/Brown/Tatum is as tough as it gets

Re: Lillard
The fact that the Bucks did this, pissing Giannis off in the process, may be an indication that Lillard is done.

Re: Lillard
If we can afford him, would love to sign him, and I think it makes a lot of sense for us.
I am surprised that the Bucks waived him, although I guess it makes some sense for a team desperate to compete right now.
There are teams with cap space, and I suspect one will offer him a multi-year deal after other plans fall thru.

If he couldn't help Giannis, he can't help a recovering Tatum.

Did they really piss him off or is that the message he had to put out there?

Or an indication that the Bucks are incompetent

We already have the 26 year-old Lillard and no one wants the younger version either.

Haven’t read it so let me guess: he’s going to make people pay?

Never will happen. He doesn’t want to be in this market. If he was interested it would have happened two years ago when he was still good and I’m glad it didn’t.

That's actually, arguably, another reason to bring Lillard around the team. He has influence over Simons and could serve as a go between coach and player. Simons has immense potential if we can get him playing the right way.

I doubt the Cs are doubling down on Simons, don’t get too attached has been the vibe

You can pay him all the money in the world and this dude is still not playing here. He kind of made it clear a couple years ago he doesn’t like the market.

It never made sense. You have Prichard here who arguably is a better player making peanuts so why overpay a point guard when you need a big? Just doesn’t make a bunch of sense.

Don't give me any encouragement. I want Simons gone yesterday. Has Tre Mann signed anywhere? He's a better all-around player than Simons.

Nothing yet on Mann. I like him also. doubt Boston can offer him anything worthwhile.

I think they took the best early-summer offer they could get to move Jrue for less $ without giving up draft pick(s).
I’d bet that in a perfect world, they’d have already rerouted him for less $ and/or a better roster fit.
I believe he can’t be combined with other player(s) outbound in a trade until mid/late August so that may become a new window of limited opportunity

What's the chances both him and Tatum could be back for the 25-26 playoffs?
