Shams vs Woj

Who did you enjoy breaking news more?

Or maybe it's someone else entirely?

Woj, and it's not close. Scotto is on the ascent.

Woj easily for me. He has nostalgia factor. Was a time when a rumors were actually just rumors. Was no standard of proof behind them. Now rumors are almost considered factual because of his news breaking skills of being first and accurate.

Started off rough. Woj vs LeBron interesting media history.

I moreso miss the WOJ vs Shams competition.
Shams might be the next generations WOJ, but who is going to be his foil?

I don't really have a rooting interest so much in who gives me news. But man do I admire the hustle of Shams who just decided he wanted to do this as a very young man and just worked his ass off to get where he is. Major props to a guy having a dream and making it happen.

Woj seems happy doing something different and having a quality of life back so I don't think he regrets ceding this to Shams.

Having both is better. Right now Shams dominates and it's boring

I’m the opposite. I actually much prefer the suspense of not knowing until the pick was announced. Or even better the days when Stern would get up to the podium and say “I have a trade to announce.” Now we hours/days in advance. It’s lame.

The newsbreaking is basically the same but I enjoyed when Woj would write an opinion article that had some teeth like criticizing Lebron.

They’re not different.

I don’t particularly like news breaking via tweet to be honest. Often times it comes out with incomplete details or occasionally even wrong details that need to be sorted out later.

This is the result of the length of tweets and the haste to break the news moments before someone else does.

The more the idiots at espn speak the worse the quality of the programming.

Compare the draft when tnt was doing it and what espn had done now.

Woj was significantly better with providing follow-up details, Shams is honestly a sloppy mess on that front.

To choose is to lose . I want go back to the time both would race to release trade details etc .

Woj received his info primarily from team front offices. Shams gets it primarily from player agents. The dichotomy of the FO spin vs player/agent spin was nice.

As a long time fan, I prefer the front office spin because I believe it gives you better insight into how various clubs think and operate. The sloppy mess that is Shams' lack of follow-up detail, is likely because FOs withhold info from him due to Shams consistently carrying water for the player side.

I believe Scotto is slowly evolving into the FO friendly Woj successor.
