Kings/Nuggets/Celtics/Bulls/Nets

Post#1 » by Mavrelous » Mon Jul 7, 2025 11:25 am

Kings send: Val
Kings receive: Saric

Nets send: CamJo
Nets receive: MPJ + 32 1st

Same old, same old...

Nuggets send: MPJ, Saric, Zeke Nnaji, future 2nd, 32 1st
Nuggets get: Vuc, CamJo

Get a great backup for 1 year, dump Zeke Nnaji deal

Bulls trade: Vuc
Bulls get: Simons + 2 2nds

Take on 7M in salary for 2 2nds, search for Coby White trade to get more assets.

Celtics send: Simons + 2nd
Celtics get: Nnaji + Val (Buy out)

"Stretch" Simons into 3 years deal and duck luxury tax.

Unless the Bulls accounting department has the plan, the Bulls could just as easily buy out Vucevic. Stretching out the same amount of money over 3 years is pocket change to an $8B franchise.

From what I see, Bulls get Simons (overpaid microwave bench scorer) and a couple of 2nds. Celtics are the ones he said were stretching out the payments to get under lux tax.

Yep, and it's "stretching" because the contract stays alive and tradeable, unlikle waive and stretch.

I don't see the bulls wanting to swap Simons for Vuc, at least not now.

Giddey / Jones / Carter
White / Huerter / Terry
Dosunmu / Okoro / Phillips
Buzelis / PWilliams / Essengue
Vuc / Collins / Smith

Feels like a bad roster balance move for them. They already have a ton of SGs and if Vuc leaves the C depth chart looks kind of weak.

The only scenario I see CHI wanting to swap Vuc for Simons would be a scenario where Simons plays well enough in BOS that he looks like someone CHI would want long term, because despite that SG logjam most of it is set for free agency after the year so it kind of takes care of itself. BUT, if Simons plays that well in BOS, he'll have more value than Vuc.
