Giannis Antetokounmpo: "A lot Of People Have Been Trying To Convince Me To Go Play For NYK, I'll Probably Stay in MIL"

Post#1 » by OrangeBlueSkies » Thu Jul 10, 2025 4:50 pm

Giannis with streaming with popular internet persona iShowSpeed, and claimed he will "probably" stay in Milwaukee.

A lot of people have tried to convince me, try to convince me to go and play there [New York] and stuff

Probably. Probably. We’ll see. We’ll see. Probably. I love Milwaukee

How long do the Bucks have? Let's understand they are doing everything and have done everything in their power to always re-tool around Giannis. He's 31 come December... this could end up like Dame 2.0, where team waits too long before pulling trig, and end up getting much less than initially offered.

And yet the Giannis to LA or Denver rumors will continue because why not?

Because his team is not going to be good enough to get to the Finals again.. the only reason why he will probably ask out in the next 12 months.

The bucks have a young team around Giannis now with very good shooters the bucks will be a lot better than people think Giannis is not asking out so just deal with it

To me, that sounds like he thinks about moving far less than the rest of us think about him moving.

I think the Bucks have until the next major injury. They wont have the assets to overcome another one.

Giannis wants an excuse to stay in Milwaukee. As long he thinks they can possibly compete he probably won't leave. And he thinks the Bucks when healthy could've competed with the teams in the finals this year.

even if he wanted to leave, NYK doesnt have the pieces. It would be a Dame-Miami situation where the team will tell Giannis they respect him, but not enough to take Karl Anthony Towns in a trade for him.

Let's see what the narrative is midseason when the Bucks are fighting for the 9th seed. Giannis does this every year, he's never fully committal and is always coy about his future. Bucks have bent over backwards for him and I don't think he wants to leave but I'm sure he wouldn't mind being in a better situation.

Not too convincing.

It also means that the offers Milwaukee is getting do not reflect what they'd need in order to trade him away. We'll see how this season shapes up, especially with a new Center in Myles Turner and returning a few players who showed what a 5-out lineup looks like when Giannis can go one-one-one, like they had in Game 3 of the playoffs against Indiana. Might not be sustainable deep in the playoffs, but it should be good enough to keep them in the Top 6 of the East.

I had a dream once that we acquired Giannis and Jokic.

Of course in the end its just an unrealistic dream....

Both Giannis and Jokic have won a championship. Maybe they are happy on their current teams.

Not everyone has to be Lebron and change teams every time assets run low.

Towns is a fine base for a trade discussion actually, trouble is a guy like Towns is unlikely to resign in Milwauke, which makes such a trade a no-go

It's why small market teams always prefer multiple high draft picks, in a trade for a superatar

Ya. Im not sure i can be convinced that Towns somehow increased his value from being dumped for Randle and a 1st to being the base for Towns, but even if he was, Knicks have no picks and no young talent. What are they adding?

If that were the case, LeBron wouldn't have spent his first 7yrs with Cleveland and wouldn't be in LA right now.

A written quote is one thing but if you watch the video he doesn’t sound very convincing. Seems like a 50/50 chance he either stays or goes.

Shams has no sources. It's all made up by the national media. It's AI generated Giannis

If he wants to stay in Milwaukee let him stay. I wish people would just leave him alone about this.

That’s Giannis he loves playing with the media I guarantee the Bucks got his blessing on everything that’s happened this off season. It’s more like 99.99 he stays I would put it at 100 but I know there’s a small chance he changes his mind nah it’s 100 percent chance he stays
