Austin Reaves' Trade Value?

Post#1 » by shagadelic45 » Wed Jul 16, 2025 3:31 pm

What is AR worth in trade?

What teams would be interested?

IS the Desmond Bane deal comparable in value?

He’d be perfect on the Bucks but don’t see us having the assets to make it happen.

Not remotely close to Bane, imo. One good FRP + an expiring is about where I'd peg his value.

Lol.

No.

Expiring AR is not worth multiple FRP. He could probably get an FRP and lesser talent.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Ya AR isnt close to Bane.

To me he is in a level above the small score only guys (Simons, Sexton, Coby, Cam) and a level below the true 2-way guards (Bane). Something like a meh young prospect and a FRP.

As everyone else is saying, he does not have the same value as bane.

Bane is locked up for 3 more years and is a plus defender. That makes his value higher. I'm a fan of reaves I think has significant value but his contract really limits it.

1 good first rounder and 2 2nd rounders is the current correct value. If he was on a longer contract I would say his value is just a little below bane.

Colin Sexton was salary dumped
Anfernee Simons was traded for negative value
Malik Monk doesn’t have a market (reportedly)
Cole Anthony was salary dumped

Chicago has been trying to move Coby White for a long time and he still hasn’t been resigned.

There’s real data to suggest that these guards that are not elite at one thing and isn’t a two way player are NOT coveted around the league.

Now this is not to say Reaves isn’t a lot better than the players mentioned, but he’s an expiring looking to get his biggest paycheck of his career and was just played off the court in the playoffs.

Comparing Reaves to Bane is apples to oranges imo.

Sexton wasn't salary dumped.. utah took back more salary. i think it was a side deal to allow utah to draft bailey
Portland dont think Holiday is negative value
Anthony was salary filler in a trade for bane, and bought out to make room for JJJ's extension. he wasn't technically salary dumped
Chicago have been doing the OPPOSITE and refuse to trade white despite teams offering 2 1sts for him. he is not extended because he think he can make more as a FA/is limited by how much he can sign extension for

Monk dont have a market so that part is true

Let's use one of the half dozen or so existing threads on this please.
