The Sacramento Kings are considered the most likely team to sign Russell Westbrook this offseason, sources tell Tim MacMahon. Westbrook spent last season with the Denver Nuggets and had stretches of productivity with the club, but they decided to move on with Bruce Brown Jr. as his replacement.
If Westbrook signs with the Kings, he will be on his sixth team in seven seasons. Westbrook declined his player option to become a free agent this offseason. In 75 games with the Nuggets last season, Westbrook averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 27.9 minutes.
Westbrook would serve in a bench role with the Kings backing up Dennis Schroder. The Kings' roster is in flux following their trade last season of De'Aaron Fox.
Westbrook is represented by Jeff Schwartz.
