If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

3 nationally televised games is embarassing
The Warriors, Lakers, and Knicks each have 34 nationally televised games each
Portland for some reason, has 8?

25th in national games. Only Nets, Pels, Jazz, and Wizards are worse.
Bulls are just irrelevant in terms of storylines, even if the record is roughly 50-50. Just nobody cares about them. We'll win some, lose some in about equal #. We won't remotely compete for a title, we don't have any top draft picks worth checking out. Just a complete non-story for casual fans.

You WANT more Bulls games on National TV?
Three is fine for this garbage organization.

I do think the league is often slow to change.
Boston still has 25 national games and will be much worse (by design) for the year.
Indiana still has 9 games and will be without Haliburton and Turner, but also were just in the Finals.
I'm not entirely sure when the planning for this begins, but I'd think it happens before the previous season even ends.
We're a big market and over the final 25 games or so we played a really fun and exciting brand of basketball.
If the NBA can flex games, and if our late season play wasn't a mirage, I could see us adding more as the season goes on.

Why? We have no marketable superstars and have been a sub-.500 win team for years and according to Vegas project to be even worse this year.

Should they not? The two largest TV markets in America: (a) The Knicks, who have future HOF player Jalen Brunson and are currently just a hair behind Cleveland as favorites to win the Eastern Conference; and (b) The Lakers, who have two of the biggest superstars of the last 20 years (and are the Lakers).
And the Warriors still have Steph (and the extremely popular Butler and much hated, highly combustible Dray).
Portland for some reason, has 8?
Yeah, that one doesn't make a ton of sense. I'm going to assume its some blend of factors involving Yang Hanson (China market), the increased number of nationally televised games spread out among the various providers, and it being one of the few teams that plays really late at night.
I'd say the return of Dame would matter too but isn't he out all season?
Plus, you think that's weird? The Kings have 9 nationally televised games. The Kings! Here's an article discussing the nationally televised games for every team: https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/2025-26-nba-schedule-which-teams-have-most-nationally-televised-games-and-some-of-the-reasoning-behind-it/

Well if New York and LA are partially getting games due to being a large media market, then the same in theory would apply to Chicago.
The funny thing about no marketable stars is - it's kind of a self-fufilling prophecy.
You don't give a team exposure and then claim they don't have marketable players. They're in control of all of this. If they wanted to hype of Giddey or Matas based on their late season play, they could.
Pelicans/Zion only have two games is interesting, is this how fast ones "star status" can be lost? Same thing with Charlotte and LaMelo. We know from all-star voting and other things that LaMelo is one of the most popular players in the entire NBA with younger viewers, why not showcase him?

Yea its definitely a factor of having a limited amount of teams for the 930PM slot. So inherently the handful that are will get more exposure

The market part does (albeit it to a slightly lesser extent in market size). But the Bulls don't have the second part - being a contender or having a superstar or both. When they do, they will have huge numbers of national games just like they did with Rose and the Dynasty.
The funny thing about no marketable stars is - it's kind of a self-fufilling prophecy.

That's not really the way it works. Fans gravitate to players and the league runs with it. Do they try with certain players like #1 picks? Sure they do. But at the end of the day its the players who make it happen. Someday I can see Matas being one of those guys, but he's a long way from that today when they are making the schedule.

Yes, that's right. They're hurt all the time, their teams are never relevant, and their markets suck. So now they aren't considered highly bankable national attractions. At least not for this year's schedule.
The bottom line is that the NBA would love to feature the Chicago Bulls as a premier, highly relevant NBA team. We are the third largest market and have an international following. But we aren't a premier, highly relevant team. Once we are, the NBA will fall all over itself to market the team.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

it's the third largest media market in the US and has a huge, global fanbase. they sell out every game. unfortunately, the team is terrible and everybody knows it. it's definitely embarrassing, although it's not like it's unexpected, you shouldn't have to ask why. they operate like they're a mid-market team in the LaVar Ball league.
also, somebody clue me in on why NBA teams are doing these dumbass "schedule reveals". is this what the zoomers want? at least the other teams used real people, the Bulls used some AI action figures. shameful.

I thought it was a pretty well done reveal, props to the team that put it together.
3 "national " games? Ok, well.we.deserved that somewhat, so that's OK, I'm out of market and on LP so I won't miss many games at all.
Already looking at the.schedule for potential trips
@ Orlando for 2nd game of season is easy.for me (I'm in fl)
Home vs wash right b4 Thanksgiving, cheap and I'm already scheduled in chicago.
Miami in January too!
Looks like I will.make at least 3 games, nice!

Good luck to the team on going for the play-in.
