Preseason Game and PG Thread #4!!!!!!!!!!!-Knicks Vs Wizards 10/13/25 7:30Pm Est

With the way the guys have been shooting it doesn’t look like they’ve gotten their game legs yet. I wouldn’t be in a rush to give them a night off. Especially when our last preseason game is on Friday. I get that playing in the Middle East is more taxing but you’d figured they’d need more game play in the new system.

Last year Cavs seemed to absorb Atkinson's system and jump out to a great start right away. I hoped that would be us this year but it's looking more like it will be a gradual start, a work in progress

From what I've seen so far...none of the starters look comfortable out there. The fact that we're not running a system yet isn't very comforting to me. The bench has looked better which is wild. Hopefully the starters get it together sooner than later becase the games start to count soon enough. Brown better have them ready.

If the system is based on players making decisions off what the defense gives them using alignments and actions without preset play calls it may take a little more time for the gelling to happen. It may look sloppy and disorganized early on but if they can find their rhythm in it the payoff is that teams can't game plan for it as easily.

The hard part is having players who can read, react and execute in the moment, guys who are slow play action processors will result in more turnovers and broken plays. We know we don't want Mitch doing it but know Brunson can, the question is if everyone else in between will be able to do it. Time will tell if it's the best way to play these guys.
