He wasn't great in pre-season, but he earned it by carrying that summer league team. I like this decision a lot. He's an all-around player that could easily back-fill in for Jakobe or Agbaji.

It's good that they recognized his contributions. He plays hard whenever he is given the opportunity, and can light it up offensively.

Ya...AJ can heat up. I like keeping him in the fold until the roster gets optimized with a few moves and roles get more defined. He's definitely an NBA player. Liked what I saw from him last season.

I wonder what would have happened if Chomche didn’t have an unexpected medical issue opening up a two-way spot. Would they have kept Lawson on the non-guaranteed deal even though it puts them deeper into the tax? Somehow I doubt it. So even though losing Chomche sucks, being able to keep Lawson is a bit of silver lining I guess.
