Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

Total: 87.8/88.0

This is essentially a composite of various Spurs championship teams, with several major enhancements. Duncan-Wemby is Twin Towers 2.0 with Wemby's unique skillset providing us with added versatility on both ends. Manu-Frazier is an upgraded version of the dynamic Manu-Parker backcourt that took on greater offensive primacy in 2005 and 2007. We've got the shooting, passing, unselfishness, and overall IQ of the Beautiful Game Spurs, exemplified by Manu and Diaw who were so central to that group's identity. And of course, we have Duncan at his 2003 peak as the anchor.

Offensively, Wemby's volume three-point shooting allows us to play two true bigs without sacrificing spacing. Combine that with both being excellent passers (Wemby's interior passing is already top-notch), and the off-the-dribble creation of Walt and Manu, and we should be able to keep pace with anyone. Defensively, we boast two absolutely dominant rim protectors and several elite options on the perimeter, plus Wemby's lateral mobility and insane wingspan allow us to match against smaller lineups.

Matchup
- Defensive assignments are mostly straight up, except Duncan is the primary Hakeem defender while Wemby guards Horry. We have no individual weak spots to attack, and all our starters are excellent team defenders.
- Roddy has a major problem at the 4, where Horry is outclassed in terms of size, skill, and athleticism against either Wemby or Duncan. (I assume it would be the former as Wemby's shooting will draw Hakeem away from the basket.) Hakeem can only do so much to help as Wemby is a terrific interior passer, plus Duncan can do some damage on the offensive glass if Hakeem leaves him.
- CP3 is the best playmaker on either team and J-Dub is solid, but I think the combination of Frazier, Manu, Duncan, Wemby, and Diaw gives us a clear overall advantage in that regard.

Good luck roddy.

C: Hakeem Olajuwon 38 min / Steven Adams 10 min
Pf: Robert Horry 30 min / Herbert Jones 18 min
Sf: Jalen Williams 28 min / Nicolas Batum 15 min / Herb Jones 5 min
Sg: Reggie Miller 38 min / Nicolas Batum 10 min
Pg: Chris Paul 38 min / Jalen Williams 10 min

2024 Herb Jones 7.7
2015 Chris Paul 14.3
1995 Reggie Miller 13.5
1993 Hakeem Olajuwon 19.5
2021 Nicolas Batum 6.1
2002 Robert Horry 5.7
2025 Jalen Williams 16.9
2025 Steven Adams 3

tfga: 86.7

This team is better version of Houston Rockets championship team. Hakeem/Horry still the same but Chris Paul instead of Kenny Smith, Reggie Miller instead of Vernon and Jalen Williams instead of Otis Thorpe. The offense should be really good with the best pg in the tournament who can get anywhere on the court, Reggie Miller the best shooter and Jalen Williams explosive and versatile player, Floor spacer in Horry and ofcourse Hakeem that was decent passer at this stage of his career

Defense

Hakeem / Adams on Duncan
Horry/Hakeem/Herb on Wemby
Jalen / Batum on Manu
Reggie Miller/ Herb on Trevor
CP3/Jalen/Batum on Walt Frazier

Overall

lets start with Horry/Wemby matchup which looks bad at first glance but lets remember that Horry was legit powerforward defender, in The Chosen season he played 37 minutes in the playoffs were they won it all so not a small sample size. 57ts% , 4.8 bpm, 39% from three and 116 ortg and 99 drtg. Only thing im saying is that even if Wemby matchup is not ideal he has faced tough powerforwards in his career in playoffs and did fine vs Karl Malone, Barkley, Rasheed etc... and he will always have legit big with size next to him like Hakeem and Steven Adams

Fade'd defense will probably be better but all of my guys are elite defenders outside of Reggie Miller so the gap wont be big overall

on the offensive end I think the gap will be bigger in my favor with better better spacing overall with only my centers being bad threepoint shooters, best floor general in CP3 and the best shooter in Reggie Miller

best of luck Fade, great team you build there

Close matchup.

I think that not having a PF that can really take advantage of Duncan with spacing is the game changer for me.

Robert Horry guarding Wemby is an unforced error IMO.

You can make a much more credible case for him guarding Duncan (minimal size difference), and Hakeem is mobile enough to deal with Wemby.

That swayed an otherwise close one for me.
