Celts End the Cold-Shooting Blizzard, Bounce Back All Over the Wizards! Victory Cigar vs WAS 11/5

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Thu Nov 6, 2025 2:55 am

Hooray you guys we won the big game! That was way more fun than losing the big game imho!

Jaylen Brown!! Josh Minott!! Pritchard and Queta and DWhite and Walsh!

Celts got off to a dismal start and couldn't hit 3's again, but the lid came off the basket late in the 1st and the whole team started percolating. 2nd quarter was great, 3rd was even better, JB was a beast, Josh was electric, and the Celts rolled to a much needed win.

Magic Friday in an NBA Cup game (then Magic again on Sunday), Go C's!

Who needs a top three pick when we already have lottery picks in Minott and Jordan Walsh??

Queta made celtic history.. Let that sink in for a minute.

Brown was dominant.. The Wizards or not.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

A win is more fun than a loss. Let’s play the Wizards every game!

Celtics were 1 game away from the NBA Finals in 2018.
That Celtics team had ZERO chance of beating GSW in the Finals.

This is what could happen this season because the east is wide open.

Let's not talk about the west because we have to get to the Finals first.

But if things go the Celtics way and what I mean by that is Tatum returning in March and Brad getting something useful for Simons.
Anything's possible.

Don't rule anything out until after the All-Star break.

If things go bad then tanking the last 30 games should be an option also.

Right now it's just too early to come to a conclusion.

I can't get excited over a 29 point win Against Washington. Just can't...

I still don’t know what Simon’s purpose is on this team. Most of his “hot” shooting was in garbage time when the Celtics were up 25-30 points

Nice win.

I said in the game thread that I wanted Joe to play Minott 30 minutes plus tonight. Joe played him 34 minutes. Nice Joe!!

VC to Brown and Minott. Brown was great with 35, 5 and 5 in only 26 minutes.

Minott with a career high 21 points!!!

Queta also played really well. 7-7 from the field, 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (which tied career high in assists for him).

Pritchard was really good with 18 and 5 assists. He picked up those two quick fouls in the 1st minute of the game. When he came back, we started playing much better.

White was solid. Jordan Walsh played well. Simons didn't play well through the 1st 3 quarters, but was on fire in the 4th.

Very good coaching job by Joe.

As I said about Queta in the off season, I felt he was our best big last season, even though Joe didn't play much.

It's the Victory Cigar thread, where we all talk about 1 or 2 players from the Celtics who played the best.

Yet you just use it to dump on Simons.

This anti-Simons agenda that you have is really getting weird. Ever since we traded for him, you've made like *hundreds* of posts dumping on him, trying to convince everyone on the board that we should trade him and making guarantees that he'd be traded as soon as we could aggregate him in a trade in September (which didn't happen).

I can't help but ask...what did he do to you?
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Because Simon’s has been horrible, not bad, horrible. He serves no purpose.

Things would be so much easy if he actually was a solid player. He isn’t.

Brad Stevens never worked harder in his life trying to trade Simons in the summer and nobody wanted him. I see why. I’m not trying to convince anyone, Simons is doing that all by himself

Some stats:

Pritchard at +36 in 24 minutes (more than the overall winning margin).
Walsh at +27 in 24 minutes.
Team at 31 assists vs 5 TOs.
Team at 12 steals vs 5 TOs.
Team hit exactly 2/3 of it 2pt FGA.

I really wanted to go Walsh, but more guys than votes deserved iit ahead of him with JB, Minott and Queta. So I went JB and team. Pritchard was really good too. As was playing the Wiz.

Walshwagon is still rolling though!

I like that Joe has switched from doin JB, White, Pritchard and Simons lineups to more running 3-4 of Hauser, Oogo, Minott and Walsh. More length and more staggering the first group.

Walsh played really well tonight, thought his energy sort of changed the game when he came in. Had some bigtime rebounds, was disruptive on defense, looked like a legit NBA player.

Jaylen brown now averaging 28 ppg on 63% TS. Just a beast.

Minott is turning into a town favorite.

Queta continues his strong play, he needs more minutes.

As many have said, the difference between Brown and Tatum is Tatum makes his teammates better because he does everything well. Brown is elite at one thing, a better natural scorer than Tatum but Tatum has him beat in every other area.

White has elite synergy with Tatum. They know where each other are going to be and they're all-around games complement each other really well. White being in a slump hasn't helped but I like lowering White's shot volume and letting his all around game shine through. That's where his impact is felt the most. Pritchard as a #2 isn't good but the best option for now. Simmons is not a player you want on a team trying to win. Hopefully, we can dump him but letting him expire isn't a bad option either.

Good game from many players. Love the energy
Would have liked more Baylor and less Simons

Brown's disrespect by the refs is glaring
He doesn't get the star calls the other whiners get
He needs to be clobbered to get a foul, and even then the refs call it about 50% of the time

If he got the whiners calls (Shai, Doncic, Brunson etc) he would have averaged 40+ points a game easy

And:
Saar (2nd year center): 4-5 from 3 (9-18 YTD)
Hauser (3pt specialist): 1-6 from 3 (12-34 YTD)

I say it is time to move on. We can get a PF that can shoot 36% from 3 and be better on defense and on the boards. I think that Lofton is still without a team :)
