DD leading the team in assist since Trae left with a healthy average of 7.6
You can feel that DD is really making an effort to create for others and find his teammates.
I thought Dyson was a SG/SF, but he could be a SG/PG, which would really help out the Hawks in the 2026 offseason and 2026 draft.

I always had him as a 1 or 2 guard. Coming out of the draft I thought he would be a point guard.

Re: Dyson Daniels' PG skills
Spoiler:
Sports CastingDyson Daniels, Leading The Charge
The Atlanta Hawks are 4-2 since Trae Young went down with a knee injury Oct. 29. During those 6.5 games without Young, Dyson Daniels has compiled 50 assists and just 15 turnovers. Without their pick-and-roll point guard leading the way, the Hawks have leaned on Daniels and he’s made the most of his extra opportunities.
They’ve also been forced to play a different brand of basketball. They’re No. 1 in the NBA in scoring off of cuts, generating 1.536 points per possession. They also do it frequently, ranking among the top 10 in cutting volume.
A big part of that has been Daniels and his knack for finding teammates who dart inside.

I would be more than happy to trade Trae for cap space and one 1st round pick. If the other team could also add some throw in 'diamond in the rough player' like DD or Ben Wallace, then all the better.

DD is essentially Ben Simmons at pg. It can get ugly in the playoffs once team key in and expose it.

^Agreed.
An offensive initiator that is actively terrible at offense puts a legit ceiling on the team.
And having those PG responsibilities full time likely means he'd have less energy and focus on defensive playmaking.

Having the ability to shoot a 3 pointer is something Ben Simmons can't do.CP War Hawks wrote:DD is essentially Ben Simmons at pg. It can get ugly in the playoffs once team key in and expose it.
