Mohamed Salah is set to be included in Liverpool\'s squad for Saturday\'s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion, sources told ESPN on Friday.
Salah will return following conversations with manager Arne Slot. The move is felt to be in the best interests of all parties after the forward was omitted from the midweek Champions League victory over Inter Milan.
Salah was left out of Liverpool\'s matchday squad against Inter Milan following his explosive interview after the Reds\' 3-3 draw with Leeds United. The 33-year-old claimed he had been \"thrown under the bus\" by the club and that his relationship with Slot had broken down.
Sources said extensive conversations occurred over the past week between Salah, his representatives, and club officials. Slot confirmed he would speak with Salah again on Friday before making a final decision.
Salah will depart for the Africa Cup of Nations on December 15 to represent Egypt. The forward\'s future will be discussed further in the coming weeks upon his return.
Salah suggested last weekend that the Brighton clash could be his last for Liverpool. He has been a long-term subject of interest from Saudi Arabia and could leave in January if no resolution is reached.
\"We have spoken a lot in the last week,\" Slot said at his news conference Friday. \"After the Sunderland game there were a lot of conversations between his representatives and ours, our representatives and him, between him and me.\"
Slot emphasized that squad selection decisions remain entirely his responsibility. The manager confirmed he consults with sporting director Richard Hughes but maintains final authority over the lineup.
\"I think we decided as a club -- and I was part of that decision -- not to take him to the Inter Milan,\" Slot said. \"The decision to play a player or have him in the squad -- as I have experienced until now and I think this will never change -- is entirely up to me.\"
Liverpool remain unbeaten in their past four games across all competitions. However, the Reds have won just two of their past 10 Premier League matches.
