Tounde Yessoufou / Cameron Carr (Baylor)
I am surprised neither have a thread.
Honestly Tounde reminds me of Ant physically and the way he moves. Obviously has to develop more and become more polished but a potential 2 way star imo.
Carr looks like a guy who is just going to be a pain for NBA defenses, and is going to score from all over and play defense.
I would draft both very high.

Re: Tounde Yessoufou / Cameron Carr (Baylor)
Mentioned it in another thread but I'm almost 95% sure that Tounde is older than his listed age.
Came over as a 15 year old from Africa
Didnt grow a single inch since then
Already looked old and mature in his face back then
In articles from his sophomore year you can read that he was already "a man amongst boys"
Comes over from Africa and immediately becomes Californias all time HS scorer
Kids coming over from Africa to play sports in mostly Europe and faking their age in the process is a real thing, especially in Soccer. Recently the cameroonian federation banned 70 of their OWN players for verifiably faking their age. Nigeria is the record holder with 5 wins at the U17 World Cup in Soccer. Yet they suck at the senior stage. Just one example.
Then you have recent cases in Basketball like this. Who was allegedly 11 when the picture was taken
or Mohamed Dabone, who is called the next Wemby but is very obviously at least 3 years older than his listed age
So it is a real thing and when somebody comes over, has a super mature face and body, does not grow a single inch, completely dominates, is "a man amongst boys" that just rings all sorts of alarm bells for me.

Not many 30 year olds are built like and can move like Ant, I would still draft him high.

Baylor has played a lot of crappy teams to pad the win total, I am guessing because their depth is weak this year. Need to see them in conference play to get a real read on what they have.

I like them both in the 8-15 range right now. I get more Lou Dort out of Yessoufou than I do Edwards. Carr is interesting, think he can at least stick as a 3+D player.

I have Carr late in the first round right now. his scoring is definitely impressive, but I need to see him do it once the Big 12 play ramps up. Baylor has had the ultimate cupcake schedule, and Carr was a nobody for two years.

Re: Tounde Yessoufou / Cameron Carr (Baylor)
Carr and Yessoufou show out in a loss against the Kansas Jayhawks, as the Baylor Bears fall: 62-80.
Cameron Carr: 31 MINS, 24 PTS on 63% TS, -7
Tounde Yessoufou: 37 MINS, 20 PTS on 53% TS, 7 TRB (3 ORB), -21
Their performances were outshadowed by Kansas' freshman guard Darryn Peterson and sophomore forward Flory Bidunga having big games of their own.
As per ESPN's aggregate draft ranking, Carr is teetering at the edge of the lottery: the #15 prospect. Yessoufou is mocked at #21.
Baylor is now 11-6 on the season, 1-4 in conference play (#14 out of 16 teams in the Big 12).
Their KenPom rating moves from +18.44 to +17.59, and their KenPom rank goes from #40 to #41 (#7 in the Big 12).

Re: Tounde Yessoufou / Cameron Carr (Baylor)
I love Carr in my Pistons
Strengths
1. Perimeter Shooting – ELITE
Carr is widely regarded as one of the top shooters in the country, featuring a quick, fluid, and repeatable release. His 42% three-point shooting reflects both consistency and shot versatility:
Elite catch-and-shoot threat
Highly effective coming off movement and screens
Comfortable shooting from deep NBA range
Attacks closeouts decisively
2.Athleticism & Finishing – HIGH LEVEL
Explosive leaper with outstanding body control and coordination:
Nearly 70% finishing at the rim
Finishes through contact
Strong transition scorer
Effective cutter in half-court settings
3. Off-Ball Intelligence – ADVANCED
Shows high-level understanding of spacing, timing, and movement:
Smart, well-timed cuts
Excellent relocation shooting
Strong off-ball awareness
4. Defensive Versatility – STRONG UPSIDE
Elite length and good instincts make him a disruptive defender:
Switchable across multiple positions (2–4)
Effective weak-side rim protector
Strong advanced metrics: 4.1% block rate, 1.2% steal rate
Areas for Improvement
1. Playmaking & Decision-Making
His assist-to-turnover ratio (0.6) highlights his current limitations:
Below-average court vision
Tendency toward “scoring blindness” on drives
Needs improvement reading help defense
2. Ball Handling
Functional but not advanced:
Can attack closeouts
Struggles creating separation in isolation
Limited self-creation
3. Physical Development
Despite solid frame, he needs continued strength gains:
Upper and lower body strength
Core stability
Ability to absorb NBA-level physicality
Would it be possible that it didn't end in a lottery? I think not...

Yessoufou with 37 pts. I thought he'd be a much better defender than offensive player but tbh, despite the reports of his elite motor I often see him loafing and almost never see him affect games as a help defender. Conversely, he's much more advanced offensively with a solid looking jumper, he never panics and knows how to play. He might only be 6'5" and change which isn't great for a SF but he's so solidly built that I think he'll be good enough to defend his position. Has to be a late lottery at worst imho.
Foes..you DO realize I don't see your posts....right?

i agree with this. at this point he's in my personal top 10, but should be late lottery at least for the entire world.

Not sure 'looking old' matters, otherwise we'd accuse LeBron and Greg Oden of faking their age. They both came into the league with wrinkles. Most people reach their peak height by 16, so stopping at 15 isn't that much of an outlier.

I am much higher on Carr for this current class but I like both players.

Here's my scouting profile for Carr, I really like him, need to watch that Louisville stinker though.
Gave him a Michael Dickerson + Kerry Kittles comp, though there's also some modern Rip Hamilton vibe to his game, what do you think?

And Yessoufou is next...I don't agree with the Antman hyperbolic comp, but how about another strong and athletic SG who starred for the Wolves for a while - JR Rider? or is the talent gap to high still? I'm also considering Kendall Gill; and Kelenna Azubuike on the low end.

I’m high on Carr. I’d take him as high as 7.
He’s Mikal Bridges with freak athleticism.

Carr is just so thin that I think his wingspan and shotblocking advantages are gonna be moot in the league bc he won't be able to guard up

I don't think it's crazy, but you'd have to believe in his offense translating to a pretty high level to take him over any of these star bets/ lead initiators imo.
Like I'd have a hard time taking over Mikel right now. Acuff Jr is probably a closer debate for me but a freshman putting up some historically great offensive metrics is tough to not swing on over him even if he strikes me as someone that will most likely land in the sub All-Star level guard area.
As far as the Mikal comp goes, I can see it. He definitely is more of an offensive leaning version who is probably more talented with the ball at the same age, but despite similar physical tools isn't nearly at the same level from a smarts or activity perspective defensively.

He was listed as 6'5" in 2021 by the high school - https://www.si.com/high-school/michigan/detroit-area-high-school-boys-basketball-schedule-scores-february-20-2026-01khy813vcwn
Now he is 6'5" in college. It's extremely unlikely to stop growing by age 15 for a male. Tounde was 15.5 at the time of the article, which seems to be his first high school game as a freshman. Realistically almost all males grow until 18 to some degree and many into their 20-21th year.
I would say this is probably a Thon (google "thon maker australia reddit" if you wish to read the saga). If you evaluate his Tounde as +4, the whole growth angle completely checks out.

Misinfo here: The most common age for a man to stop growing (at least significantly, by more than an inch) is 16.
It's not uncommon at all for a man to stop growing at age 15, and in fact, that's more likely than a man continuing to grow past 18, statistically.

That's actually wrong. Try not to not spread misinformation when calling out so called misinformation. Your claim is easily refuted by any growth chart. The mean age of stop is 18-19. You can go google any variations of this; it's all going to be the same pretty much. There will be no charts showing some age 15/16 stops.

Growth is largely linear for boys on average, and it's going to take an act of god for someone to get to 6'5" by age 15 and not a grow an inch from 15 to 19. Can Tounde do this? Yes, it's possible but given the countless scandals of age faking in sports, the parsimonious explanation is obvious.
