Gasol doesn't seem to fit for many reasons. He's not a superstar, and he's having a down year. But, of course, he's a great asset.
Therefore:
Gasol for TThomas, Thabo, our #1 (no protection), our 2010 #1 and we send JSmith to someone else, either for a TE (the suns would work) or an expiring (orlando would work)
I see TThomas as a future stud, he just needs time and a place to run. You get a top 5 pick again (yours), our pick (?) A TON of $ relief and a chance to build to face Portland in the future of the West

I then see another deal to dump cardinal to free up more $
MMiller/Cardinal/Stoud to miami (who needs to shake it up, MMiller would be perfect for them) for JWill, Ricky (who you cut) and DWright
